Pumpkin Nights at Hatter’s Farm

We have been pumpkin picking at Hatter’s Farm every year for the last four years, as it’s one of our absolute favorites! This year, for the first time, we decided we wanted to see Pumpkin Nights at Hatter’s Farm – mainly as Amelia was really interested in the differences from the daytime. So, one evening in October, we all headed over there, even though we had been there during the day. As such, this will primarily focus on the differences between the day and the night! At Pumpkin Nights, you can still get a pumpkin, eat a a smaller selection of the food trucks, and explore the corn maze, however, we had already done those things so focused on what was specific for the night time.

Pumpkin Picking at Hatter’s Farm

Exploring pumpkin patches is really the perfect Autumn activity! We go to a few pumpkin patches in Essex, to see how they are. This time, we went back to Hatter’s Farm, which is one of the ones we have visited yearly since they opened, to see how things changed! Hatter’s Farm has both day and night options when it comes to visiting their farm. Their night options make the entire patch full of glowing, neon paint, which does sound like an adventure. We went during the daytime, to pick some pumpkins, eat some food, and explore the corn maze.

Pumpkin Picking at Hatter’s Farm

We’ve been going to Hatter’s Farm every year for quite a few years now. Each year, they seem to get bigger and better than the last! They are known for their unique Pumpkin Cannon, that allows people to launch cannons at giant cut out board, which always feels very exciting. They also have a large pumpkin patch, a spook walk, face painting, tons of photo areas, a corn maze and actors walking around all dressed up. We actually went to Hatter’s Farm twice this year, as the first day we went we arrived a bit later than expected due to some plans shifting, so we didn’t end up getting to do everything that we wanted to do, so we decided to come back on a secondary day.

Date Night at the Confetti Flower Field at Hatter’s Farm

Dann and I have been to Hatter’s Farm several times, particularly at Halloween, with our three children. It’s always decked up and very well presented, but now they offer a summertime Confetti Flower Field, filled with vibrant blooms that you can walk around and explore. As we both really enjoyed taking pictures of flowers and hanging out in flower fields, and have explored all of our local lavender fields, we booked up their Adult’s Only night to see this field at sunset.

A Day Out at Hatter’s Farm

Hatter’s Farm is a local pumpkin patch that has the best prices when it comes to pre-booking in Essex! We went along last year and had to go again this year in our pumpkin adventures, as it’s known to have a large variety of squash, and we were looking for some pretty specific produce to eat up. Hatter’s Farm does have a lot of different and unique aspects to their farm, which our children really enjoy!
