Pre-heat your oven to 220 degrees C
Sift together the flour and baking powder in a large bowl.
Rub in the margarine with your finger tips until the mix resembles breadcrumbs
Add in the sugar and mix
Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and slowly pour in the milk, stirring with a spoon.
Once the dough is sort of together, add the dried fruit in and continue mixing until completely combined.
Flour a work surface and knead the dough for about five minutes.
Roll the dough out to the thickness of about 1 inch, then cut using a cutter into rounds.
Place the rounds on a greased and floured non-stick backing tray and glaze with a bit of extra milk for a shine.
Bake on the top of the oven for 15 minutes or until the scones are a deep golden color.
Set aside to cool and serve with jam!
