The Perfect Apple Pie Filling

Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 cups Apples
  • 3/4 cups White Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Flour
  • 3/4 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 4 dollops Margarine or Butter

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven to 220 degrees C (425 degrees F)
  • Mix together the above, dry ingredients in a large bowl (or in a plastic container with a lid, if you want to shake everything together)
  • Slice apples thinly, add lemon juice to the slices
  • Add the apples to the dry ingredients and combine well.
  • Place apples on top of uncooked pie shell, in a pie tin.
  • Put 4 dabs of margarine or butter over apples.
  • Sprinkle with a touch of extra flower.
  • Put on top crust and seal around the edges, as well as poke the middle so that there is an air vent.
  • Bake at 220 degrees C (425 degrees F) for 10 minutes.
  • Turn the oven down to 160 degrees C (325 degrees F) for a further 30 to 35 minutes.
