Learn Science with the Ultimate Gross Science Kit

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to science, it’s always good to get children interested in learning science, especially if it can be done in a really fun and interactive way. Kai is a big fan of science, so when he saw the Ultimate Gross Science Kit, he was both delighted at the gross-ness of it, and interested in the scientific aspect of the kit. Testing Higgidy’s New Veggie Slices

[Ad- gifted products] Our household loves Higgidy! Whether it is picnic time or we are looking for quick, yummy food to take with us on the go, we often reach for Higgidy products. Recently, they have announced their brand new range of Veggie Slices and sent us some as a sneak preview, before they come into our local supermarkets on April 27th.

Excited to try these out, we heated ours up in the oven. They can also be eaten straight out of the package, of course, if you don’t want to spend the time heating them up or would rather pack them into a lunch that you can eat on the go. Higgidy has three different flavors for these slices, which we are going to talk about individually.

A Day Out at Hyde Hall Easter Trail

Last year, due to lockdown restrictions, we actually got along to quite a few different Easter Trails in our local area. The kids had a really good time at them, so this year we took a look to see if any new Easter trails popped up, and found one at Hyde Hall that looked quite unique! Hyde Hall is a massive garden space, with plants from many different biomes. For Easter, they put a bunch of huge Eggs around their gardens, along with information on the flowers and riddles to guess what bird has the type of egg shown on the sign.

Learning about cultures with Jump Up! A Story of Carnival

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to reading bedtime stories to the children each night, we love to pick up new books to keep things fresh. More and more, we have been focused on adding in books that depict other cultures and other people. Learning about various cultures and understanding that there are different people that all have different beliefs and upbringings is really important in our home. The George Padmore Institute is doing a wonderful job publishing children’s books and reading material that fill the void that the 2020 Black Lives Matter campaign highlighted was needed. Dream to Change the World was the first in this series of new publications, with Jump Up! A Story of Carnival being the second.
