Yakimono Robata – Japanese Styled Tapas

We love exploring new places to eat, and when it comes to food, we are a huge fan of Japanese styled food, especially when there are plenty of different small plates to try out. A new restaurant opened up in Epping, called Yakimono Robata, which describes itself as Japanese Tapas. When we saw Yakimono Robata opening up, in a town that we often drive through, we had to stop in and see if it was any good!

We ended up getting the Premium Tasting Menu, which is 80£ for two. This contains a bunch of courses that come when they are ready, covering different fish, vegetables, and meats. We ended up swapping one dish out, which they were happy to do for us, and had a great time eating everything there. This tasting menu is split between us both, with tasting plates in front of us!

Baking with Nutritional Ninjas

[Ad- gifted product] If you follow me on TikTok, you will be more than aware that our household is a big fan of homemade foods! We create the majority of what we eat, from scratch. As a result, the children – especially Amelia and Robin – are very interested in cooking. Previously, we were apart of the Little Cooks monthly cooking box, but over time Amelia felt these recipes weren’t to her taste, so we were excited to try out the Nutritional Ninjas baking box!

We have been to a few, so far, from children’s focused plays to musicals, and have been really enjoying the energy and story. All My Sons is no exception. This play was based in America, with all of the actors putting on some really great American accents, which added a lot to the show.

It’s a robot that squirts water when you get things wrong, containing three different games!

A Day Out at Pember Library & Natural History Museum

I went off to visit family in Upstate New York and as a result started going out to all the little places hidden in the small, mountain-side towns nearby. One of the museums I remember going to as a very small child is the Pember Library and Natural History Museum – located right in the middle of the town my grandmother lives in. This museum is above a decent sized library, which is open, for free, to the public. The library itself is on a donation if you want basis, with a large collection of taxidermy animals, many of which you’d never see in this small town.
