[Ad – Gifted Products] Every other Monday, Dann, Amelia, Robin and I get together to play a board game and have some shakes at our local Geek Retreat. I’ve never before been slightly conscious of our board games, until Birdy Call. This is a card game where you will be making some noise, literally, in the form of bird calls! It’s silly, it’s interesting, and it’s quite whacky. I can see it being extremely fun after a couple of drinks with an older crowd too.

Birdy Call is simple. There is a deck of cards in the middle of the table and a pile of eggs. The goal is to get the most eggs. This is done by pairing up your bird with a mate! You will have a hand of five cards, which have different birds on it. You will need to look at these cards and then start making noises. The birds, you see, have different mating calls that can be read out. You will need to make these calls and listen around the table to hear if someone makes your call too. If it happens, you can lock eyes, and then decide to slap down your cards.

There are some tricking cards, like the parrot, which is looking to trick you and steal your eggs and a peacock card that needs you to look pike a peacock for a moment, however, if you do make a successful match, you both then get an egg, discard your card, and draw another one. Birdy Call is kind of frantic, but it has everyone making noises and laughing along the way. Kai stuck around to watch us for a bit, as he found the whole thing entertaining (which probably saved us from embarrassment, as he thought it was real weird and not embarrassing).
Birdy Call does have nice artwork on the cards as well – Robin really loved the little birds! They are a limited number of matches too, which makes everything feel extremely balanced and fair. It’s a quick, loud, fun game that’s very easy to set up too.

You guys always play the most fun games! I love the level of interactivity with this one. I think we’d enjoy it.
This sounds like a fun one. I like the art along with the playstyle. It’s perfect for a fun game night.
This looks like a fun game to have in your bag for when out and about! My boy would love it.
