[Ad- gifted product] When I was a child, it was a tradition to make these sort of cards for Father’s Day or for Christmas, that gave someone the ability to redeem them to get some sort of thing from me. They were concepts like “back rubs” and “do the dishes”, things that would normally be a bit of a fight or something that took up a lot of my time. When you are a kid, making these cards are super cute and it’s a cheaper gift that can keep on giving, depending on the number of cards that are given. Bringing this concept to an adult setting, Box of Favours has created a great stocking stuffer or gift that follows the format.
In adult life, treating someone you love to special favors or treats can be a really lovely thing to do, and giving someone a box of options to sort through when they are in need of a little TLC or just want a treat is a great idea. The box itself is small, stylish, and would fit fine on a desk or in a drawer, waiting to be used. Inside of the box is a “contract” envelope with a small bit of paper, blank for you to write on. You can write a silly message or a more serious message, or just introduce the box to your loved one. I quite liked this idea as it continued to personalise the gift itself.
The number of cards in the Box of Favours is a good amount, 15, with 10 filled in and 5 blank for you to write your own suggestions on. The pre-written cards are easy to relate too; bringing someone coffee or tea, giving a massage, a day out, or bringing breakfast to them in bed. The blank cards give you a way of personalizing them – I wrote clean out the cat box on one of them, as nobody enjoys washing out a cat box!
Despite this gift not costing a lot physically, the use of each of these cards is giving someone your time and energy, something worth so much more. I really enjoy these sort of gifts, as someone making me a meal or giving me a bunch of their time is always very meaningful to me. It’s also worth mentioning that one tree is planted for every Box of Favours that are sold – so it’s a gift that continues to keep on giving back. If you are stuck for a gift this Christmas or are looking to give something that’s not too costly but has a big impact, the Box of Favours is well worth checking out.
What a cute idea and perfect in this time, where everyone feels a little disconnected to one another.
This is very true!
I’ve always liked the idea of gifting favours that can be claimed any time. It especially for people who don’t like to ask for help because this makes it more of a transaction and alleviates their guilt about taking up someone else’s time.
This is such a good point!
This gift idea is cute. I’d be asking for cups of coffee to be made on my favour as coffee often seems to taste better when someone else makes it.
Coffee is always better when made by someone else AND when served to you in bed!
This is a super cute gift idea! I used to be such a fan of homemade cards and love “coupons” hahaha thanks for bringing me back to my youth, I’ll have to rethink my gift list for this year…
Great post!!

They do remind me of being a kid too! 🙂
