BUPPLEE Cat Water Fountain – Not as Hi-Tech

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to cat-related products, we have tried out tons. From robot litter boxes to automatic feeders to cat toys, we’ve seen a lot! I love a good bit of technology and Pancake is a bit of a prince, who seems to hate his water fountain after roughly a year of use. I have no idea why he does this; it’s not filters (trust me, we do change those regularly), but it might have something to do with wanting to be a human and only wanting to drink out of glasses of water, like the rest of us. Whatever the reason, a new water fountain will peek his interest for a while, so I was happy to take on the BUPPLEE Cat Water Fountain to review.

The BUPPLEE cat water fountain does look exactly like our tap, which is already a good sign as Pancake does love drinking from our tap. It’s his second favorite behind physical glasses of water on the table, so I figured this might be the fountain that he would enjoy most. The entire thing is pretty easy to set up; inside there is a sort of contained box that has a filter within it, that you can pretty easily change out. This just needs to be snapped in place. Then the tube needs to be connected to the pump, which also has a few little filters in it, and the metal fountain needs to be attached to the top of the base. A wire can run from the front right hand corner of the inside of the machine to the outside.

This fountain USB connects to power, so I did need to plug it into a little base so it would work in our outlet, but otherwise it was easy. The left hand side does have a little peak into the inside of the machine, glowing blue if there is plenty of water and glowing red if there isn’t enough water, so you can tell without looking.

Confusingly, the front of the BUPPLEE cat water fountain has a big black square on it. On some of the pictures on Amazon, it does look like this should be some sort of display, but on my machine, it’s just a black cube. There isn’t anything shown on it it doesn’t do anything at all. I have peeled off the protective plastic of course, but that didn’t change it.

When it comes to the fountain itself, it’s pretty basic. Beyond the light on the side, which is quite handy, this is just a machine you fill up with water and let it go. It does hold plenty of water for three cats, and as we have three, I do appreciate it. Pesto and Popcorn went right for the new fountain and used it just as often as the old one. Pancake has stopped drinking from our tap and does drink from the side of this fountain, but is still interested in glasses (as expected).

My own real issue is with the top metal base of the BUPPLEE cat water fountain. It doesn’t really sit snug in the white outer area. It’s almost slightly tilted and doesn’t feel very connected when you place it on. Though this hasn’t caused any problems yet, it just doesn’t feel as secure as I would like it to! If you are looking for a minimal cat water fountain, without different modes or a battery to look after, it’s decent if you like that design!

This is actually really good and perfect for what I am looking for. Our fountain stopped working last week and we’re looking for a new one. Bupplee seems a very good choice.

Did you ever try just putting out a tall glass of water. That’s what my cats prefer. This does look like a great fountain though for cats who will only drink flowing water.

We had one of these, but we got rid of it. We gave it to a friend, and her cat loved it. Ours just played in it and made a big mess. LOL
