Caine’s Pizza at Mayfield Farm – Woodfire Pizza and Desserts

We are a household that loves trying new things! Previously, we had run into Caine’s Pizza at the Potter Street Fete, but had tried it at the Harlow Street Art Festival, where we were told about the pop-up restaurant that they have started hosting at Mayfield Farm, every Friday. Dann and I tried some of the pizzas at the street art festival and decided we just must go to the pop-up with our entire family, to see how it all is.

Caine’s Pizza has taken over the tea room at Mayfield Farm, which has plenty of parking for the building. We pre-booked, which was easily done on their website. As we are a big family, this was really the right option, especially as the venue was busy! Despite it being a pop-up, Caine’s Pizza had decorated the place, putting out candles on each table, making sure that there was cutlery inside re-used tomatoes tins at each table, and there were little bits of art around the venue. This was extremely cute and homely feeling. Caine’s Pizza at Mayfield Farm has a small drinks menu, with a bunch of different soft drinks, wines and a few beers, along with a pizza menu and a dessert menu.

Pepperoni Pizza, Mushroom Pizza, and Forest Bianca

Starting off pretty basic, Amelia ordered the Pepperoni Pizza, which had some pretty thick pepperonis on them! There were plenty covering the pizza, which also had tomato sauce and cheese. Amelia also got a BBQ dip that she dipped her pizza into, and she enjoyed it. Though, her favorite is ham and pineapple, so she does hope that Caine’s Pizza at Mayfield Farm does expand to ham and pineapple! Robin ordered a margarita pizza with mushrooms, as there were some pizzas on the menu that had a mushrooms. They added them to her cheese pizza! Again, a very basic pizza but Robin very much enjoyed it and ate all bit two slices of the pizza, which is a lot for her. I got the Forest Bianca pizza, which I split with Dann for half of his pizza. This is a white-sauce based pizza, with mushrooms, truffle oil and herbs. It’s a lighter pizza that was very tasty!

All the Meat Pizza and Prosciutto Mushroom Pizza

Kai got the All the Meat Pizza, which had chorizo, pepperoni, prosciutto and basil. They are very good on the toppings, as there was just so much of it on there! He also got a little garlic and herb dip to dip his crusts into. Kai very much enjoyed his pizza. Dann got the Prosciutto Mushroom pizza, which had big slices of prosciutto on it, along with plenty of mushrooms. He added on hot honey, which they did at our table, and it was very, very delicious.

We all very much liked our pizza. They are woodfired, so have a very nice taste on their crust. None of them do come cut, which is something that our kids struggled with, but we got through it with a bit of effort from the knife and fork.

Cookie Pie and Lemon Tiramisu

Caine’s Pizza at Mayfield Farm is partnered with a baker, who provides a dessert menu with plenty of options. All of our children wanted the various cookie pies that were on offer (of which, they each got a different one). Robin got Bischoff, Amelia got Ferrero Rocher with ice cream and Kai got Kinder Bueno with custard. These cookie pies were basically giant slices of cookies with whole chocolates inside.

Dann and I got the lemon tiramisu to share, which had a little limoncello in it! This had a fantastic lemon curd, tons of fresh whipped cream and beautiful cake. It was very, very good.

We had a fantastic time at Caine’s Pizza at Mayfield Farm. They’ve done a great job with the space and the menu itself has tons of delicious options and pizza. We look forward to going back in the future.
