A Day Out at Cecily Beauty & Relaxation Spa

[Ad- gifted experience] The Cecily Beauty and Relaxation spa has been recently refurbished, so both Claire and I were invited to a day out to try out their relaxing services and see the new look. There is a lot to do at this spa from body treatments to lashes, to pedicures, to piercings and spray tans. There are so many ways to indulge in self care and relaxation. Partnered with the Alchemy & i blow dry and bubbles, it’s the perfect place to book a day all about treating yourself.

The Alchemy & i blow dry and bubbles lounge is an area where you can get your hair styled and blow dried, while also sipping on delicious cocktails and bubbly drinks. This is like the ultimate bar for those who want to look fabulous. I didn’t end up getting a blow dry and spent my time in the Cecily spa, but still found this concept to be lovely and will be back to try out this area in the future.

Meet Henry Heartbeat & Meet Henrietta Heartbeat – Children’s story book | Review

[Ad- gifted product] We really like stories before bedtime in our house as they are a great way to wind down and enjoy just a little bit more family time. Books that have a very positive message are always a plus when it comes to picking what to read before bed. When we were offered the books Meet Henry Heartbeat and Meet Henrietta Heartbeat, we were pretty excited to see what these two new characters had to offer.

Both of these books serve as introductions into the lives of these two characters, defining who they are and what they like. They are short stories that can be read easily by younger children or can make for a quick bedtime store being read out loud to children. Both contain fun and simple rhythms and cute pictures to go along with each page. When reading these books, the children pointed out some of their family members and friends who had shown the same traits, recognising kindness in their own lives.

Things to know before Private Renting

When it comes to renting, you often can find two options; renting through a private landlord or through an agency. In the past, I have stuck to an agency, as agencies are much easier to research and hold accountable then private landlords, who are individuals who might try to take advantage of people. But, on the other hand, private renting doesn’t come with the fees to start with that agencies have and it’s often cheaper. I have gone from agency renting to private renting as my landlord left an agency, as well as privately rented straight from a landlord – and have learned a lot. Which I am here to share with you;

Taking Inventory

Taking inventory is one of the first things you’ll need to do when renting a house. This means you will need to walk through the house and point out each and every fault; minor water damage on the roof, the sink not working quite right, the carpet being a little worn in places. You should write down as many of these little things on your inventory – that way they are documented. It’s also smart to take pictures of the place before you fully move in, making sure the condition is documented on your end, in case there is anything funny happening with your deposit. Pictures can help show how the house was when you moved in, which can be useful if the landlord is attempting to withhold your deposit.

Blackberry Jack Sizzling Pubs | Review

[Ad- gifted experience] After a major refurbishment, we all were invited to The Blackberry Jack pub in St Albans. We always enjoy a classic British pub meal and there is always something for everyone, from the youngest picky eater to our adult pallet. As we’ve not been to Blackberry Jack, we aren’t really sure what the pub looked like before the refurbishment, but when we went, everything seemed very clean and quirky. We sat at a big, oval table with different colours painted onto various bits of the wood. Each of our chairs were a different design, giving a really quirky feel to the place.

Blackberry Jack

The car park is actually at the back of the restaurant, meaning we entered through the back, which was a bit confusing for first-time visitors, but someone quickly noticed us and helped us to our table. Like most pubs, we ordered at the bar and items were delivered to our table. The Sizzling Pubs have an app that you can install and download so that you can order from your table, but by the looks of things, Blackberry Jack wasn’t on the app at the time that we went (probably due to the refurbish) so we just ordered at the bar. There are a good amount of variety on the menu, as well as a children’s menu and a children’s dessert menu. We were also given some colouring sheets for the younger kids, which was fun.

Things to know before buying a car online

You may have heard that our catalytic converter was stolen out of our car, while it sat in a car park. This meant that we needed to get a new car – and due to the nature of how our old car went out – it needed to be done fast. Unlike when a car is clearly dying, our car suddenly didn’t run, so we needed to find a new way of transport as soon as possible, which caused a lot of mistakes when it came to the purchasing itself. So, we’ve turned those mistakes into lessons and figured I’d share them with you.

Knowing where to look

You’ll find that many cars are listed on several different places; Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree and Craigslist all have the same listings for the same cars and often don’t get updated if a car is sold. This means that when we reached out, we’d often find the car had already gone, and then stumbled upon the same car in a new place. You’ll need to know where to look and be prepared to send a lot of texts/messages to find out if these cars are still around. Many of these listings have the bare minimum when it comes to information, so you’ll be expected to communicate with the seller as well.
