[Ad- gifted product] Our family isn’t strangers to a spread. We love to try jams, spreads, and even edible slimes on our desserts and on our pancakes. When we heard that Rowse, the honey brand, had released a new cocoa spread, we were curious as to how it would be. Rowse ChocoBee is a cocoa and honey spread that just has those two ingredients – cocoa and honey. And that’s it. There is no additives, no palm oil, no nothing. Just natural honey and UTZ-certified, sustainably grown cocoa. With such a simple recipe, we wondered how it would taste.
Rowse ChocoBee is a very nice spread – it does taste exactly like it sounds – a sweet, cocoa spread that goes great on toast or pancakes, inside oats or eaten by the spoonful as a sweet dessert. The spread isn’t one that can be baked, like jam, as it thins out too much and ends up like a fruit lather if you bake it in the oven, however because it spreads so easily, it’s fun to have on your bread, pancakes or a bit of pastry if you have it. The honey makes the cocoa super sticky, but unlike melted chocolate, it doesn’t set. Spooning it out, at room temperature, it will glaze over and spread itself just through sitting, coating your food evenly. You can top your bit of pastry with some berries, nuts or other fruit to go with the spread, making quite a fun breakfast, or spoon some of this spread on ice cream for a nice, cocoa topping.
Rowse ChocoBee is a fun new spread and a welcome addition to our breakfast table. Kai has been the biggest fan, devouring the jar on everything and anything we let him put it on. I don’t think we will be having pancakes without Rowse ChocoBee in the near future as it has easily found itself a favorite in our household.
