[Ad- gifted products] When it comes to cheese, Dann and I are a huge fan of cheese with flavor. There are tons of different cheeses that claim to be infused with specific flavor notes, so we were thrilled to give Clawson Farms a try as we had not heard of their cheeses before. Clawson Farms was established in 1912 and has since made a name for themselves by creating award-winning Stilton and specialty cheeses. I must say, their packaging and naming is also fantastic, making for some great cheese for gifting!
Our Absolute Favorite Clawson Farms Cheese

Dann and I really enjoyed the packaging on Clawson Farms’ wax-covered cheeses. There are some beautiful artworks that feel fantastic. Dann, being a big DND player, found the Wizard’s Fire cheese to be very fun. This cheese was a red Leicester with scotch bonnet and harissa – often cheeses that have spicy peppers in them can be muted, but this cheese was both peppery (like salt and pepper) and well spiced. This cheese can easily be eaten on a cracker or used in a sandwich that needs a kick of flavor. My personal favorite was the Truffle Seeker, which had a massive kick of truffle flavor, with a little sweetness from the honey. This cheese is ideal for pasta dishes, bringing a lot of sophistication.

We also tried a few of the sweeter cheeses; Dormouse’s Delight is a wensleydale with cranberries, elderflower and marmalade is a very complex, sweeter cheese. It’s got both the orange and cranberries notes first, and it crumbles very well. Castaway was another wensleydale, with chunks of mango and ginger, being a bit spiced and a bit sweet. Dann very much enjoys ginger and felt this cheese was fantastic. Both of these feel good for salad toppings and were easy eating on our cheese and fruit board.
A Few Cheddars

Clawson Farms also has a few different cheddars that are full of flavor. The Vintage Cheddar, called Captain Bulldog, went well in a mac n cheese that our children very much enjoyed. It’s got a strong cheddar flavor, just like you’d expect! The Gunpowder cheese, which is an oak smoked mature cheddar, is exactly what it sounds like. I am not a huge smoke fan, so didn’t quite enjoy this one, but Dann who is thought it tasted great. It’s very clear these cheeses are packed with flavor.
Clawson Farms Stilton

Clawson Farms is known for their Stilton. Their 1912 Blue Stilton was awarded the title of Supreme Champion at the International Cheese Awards, so they mean serious business. Stilton is a cheese that lends itself better to cooking, and of course Clawson Farms has some suggestions; adding some to a baguette with cranberry and bacon or possibly creating a focaccia with roasted grapes and balsamic can create a stunning and flavor packed dish. Absolutely stuffed with cheese, we had our stilton loving expert try out the 1912 Golden Blue and Artisan Stilton, and here is what she had to say;
“The Stilton made a gorgeous blue cheese pasta meal, inspired by the provided recipe that can be found inside the package. It has a strong, rich flavour – good for fans of blue cheeses. The Golden Blue was perfect on potato skins with some onion and chopped up bacon pieces or for a luxury grilled cheese sandwich. It has a milder flavour (still delicious) and a gorgeous colour, making it a brilliant introduction to blue cheese.”
