Cute and Colorful Homeware with Very Neko

[Ad- gifted product] I really love anything that can go in a kitchen. As we have moved to a much bigger house, with floor to ceiling cupboards waiting to be filled with items, I have been obsessed with finding lovely new things to fit into all this space! I also love everything cute and themed, which is exactly why Very Neko is a perfect place for me to grab some new homeware items. They have tons of different, adorable things, including Funko Pop, backpacks and accessories, themed with various Disney characters, Sanrio characters and many more you will recognise. We ended up having a look at all of their homeware and picking out some lovely items.

The Frozen Collection

Frozen 2 is still a really big deal in our household. Robin has a Frozen themed backpack, PJ set, small water bottle, lunch box, bed sheets, slippers, hat, gloves, many, many costumes and more. She loves Frozen 2. She is still so into the show, that it’s perfect to get some of the collection for her.

While we have tried to theme her school lunch bag the best we can, the first thing that caught my eye was the three nesting storage containers, perfect for fitting into a packed lunch box. These containers are great in size, one being perfect for a sandwich and two being ideal for some sides or snacks. Their lids have a different design on each one, and aren’t overly kid-like, so they’d work well for a young adult who loves frozen too. The container lids fit on really well too, and there hasn’t been any issues with getting them to and from school.

Along with the lunch containers, we figured Robin could use a new water bottle – especially as her old one was so small! The Frozen 2 plastic water bottle is quite big, with a straw spout that sticks out, allowing you to slurp up your drink easily. There is a big grip on the top, made of hard plastic, so you can clip it onto your bag if you’d like. The outer layer is filled with glitter, which Robin loves shaking about, calling it a snow globe water bottle.

Lastly, we got one of those travel tumblers, complete with a straw and lid. I find these to be so useful when the kids drink in the front room. There is a lid, so this won’t be spilled everywhere. The lid screws on and the straw has a little lip at the bottom, meaning it cannot be pulled out of the cup! These tumblers are actually really quite big, which surprised me, and I do like the design on them!

Mickey Mouse Collection

The next collection that caught my eye was the Mickey Mouse collection – classic Disney, really! We aren’t in a huge need of bowls and normal cups, but these items were also in the collection, as well as different colored plates. I ended up going with the more muted, Mickey Mouse plates, which come in sets of four, each with a different color. These plates are plastic, great for eating outdoors or for children to eat from, but the design isn’t super kid-like either – making the plates look quite good. These are the kids current go-to platres when it comes to meal time! I also love the grey Mickey Mouse face on each one, apart from the grey plate itself, which has a pink one.

We also grabbed the Mickey Mouse tumbler for Amelia, who often drinks in the living room as well, so that she had one. Much like the Frozen 2 tumbler, this one is quite big, with a screw top and a straw that can’t be pulled straight out. It’s also been used tons and tons lately, and hasn’t had any spills or issues.

Nightmare Before Christmas Mug

When it came to something for myself, I was obsessed with this Nightmare Before Christmas lidded mug, which is truly wonderful. We have been making more hot drinks and taking them out, so I was in the market for a new travel mug, and I love the Nightmare Before Christmas design. The mug itself is actually made of ceramic, with a silicon lid that stretches a bit. It’s very easy to clean and holds heat super well. It can also hold a large drink from coffee places easily, so it’s an ideal size really.

Super Mario Pow Block Mug

Dann also wanted a mug, which is no surprise, but he went for a more classic handled mug, in the Super Mario Pow Block style. This mug is unlike the other Super Mario mugs that we have seen, which are often the mystery box or have general designs. This one is square, which is pretty neat, and makes for a very good coffee mug. We really liked the details in this mug, as you can feel the letters and indents in it – it’s not just some printed mug to add to your collection.

Star Wars Mandalorian: The Child: Plastic Storage Set

You can never have too many small storage containers, so the last item I picked up was another one of these nesting set of Star Wars Mandaloria: The Child storage sets. Much like the previously mentioned Frozen set, these are great to hold a main (sandwich) and some sides in a lunch box. They have really fun lids, which say Snack Protect and Attack, which I really love the design of, and they all fit nicely instead of each other so that you can store them away easily. These have done well in Kai’s lunch box, as well as in my own packed lunches when we go out and about.

Overall, I really love the designs and quality at Very Neko – the designs aren’t overly kid focused, and can be easily integrated into a fun loving household of adults, as well as placed into kid’s lunch boxes and use for kids. The quality of all of the items have been very nice, with them easily feeling like good parts of our kitchen, and I have really found that the tumblers are so useful when it comes to giving a big drink to the kids, in the living room. They have been the most useful item we got, though everything has done well and delighted the children!
