Dinners made Easy with Supreme Sausages

Supreme Sausages

[Ad- gifted product] Sausages are a British staple, something that you can find in every shop, but not all sausages are made equally. There are different grinds, seasonings and qualities to the sausages you can pick up. Supreme Sausages is a family run sausage business, who are striving for the very finest in Great British sausages, with award winning sausages under their belt.

Their family has been producing sausages for three generations – so they really know their stuff. They have 10 different varieties which all use quality, British farmed pork, spices, chillies, garlic, mushrooms, honey, tomatoes apples, wine and herbs all stiffed into hog casing in the same way they have been doing it for years. Supporting small, family ran businesses is something we always strive for, and with Supreme Sausages, it’s made pretty easy as you can get these sausages mailed right to your door. We ended up trying out two of their sausages, in two different dinners, which were both so tasty and delicious.

Cumberland Pork Sausages

Cumberland Pork Sausages feel like the classic British sausage, so we wanted to have them in a classic way – with bangers and mash. These sausages were peppery, herby, and very delicious. I very much liked the grind on these, creating a good texture that wasn’t mealy in any way. There are hints of rosemary, sage, parsley and thyme within the sausage, but nothing over powers each other. We cooked our sausages along with some chopped mushrooms and onions, in a pan with a bit of oil. They browned up nicely and the skin created a very good snap when cut up. We made up some of our favorite mash – with cream and pan fried some asparagus on the side, along with some gravy to cover. These sausages were really high quality and exactly what we expected!

Chalgrove’s English Pork Sausages

The Chalgrove’s English Pork Sausage is Supreme Sausage’s best selling sausage – it’s a simpler recipe with primarily nutmeg as their only seasoning of note, but this sausage is so versatile, we decided to add it into a creamy pasta dish. Making a sauce of chopped mushrooms, cream, butter, pepper and parmesan cheese in the same pan we cooked the sausages into, created quite the depth. We added a bit of veggie stock and thickened the sauce with flour, creating something that would stick to our pasta. Once the sausages were done and had sat on the side for a bit, we cut them up and added them back into the sauce, before tossing cooked pasta in and serving it all with a handful of parsley. This sausage complemented the pasta and cream sauce really well, with the nutmeg shining through – it’s a fancier take on the classic sausage and one that is sure to impress.

We enjoyed both types of sausages, though my favorite was the Chalgrove – a best seller clearly for a reason! Supporting family businesses and getting your hands on good quality produce is something we should all be aiming to do, so if you are looking for some sausages, do consider Supreme Sausages.

I am loving the way that you made the sausages and I will have to try that recipe! I usually make sausage and peppers or a sauce with sausages. I am loving the mashed potatoes and sausages with gravy 😉

We don’t get to have sausages very often but I do go for the better quality ones only. We quite like the classic Cumberlands.

This would be good for my oldest son to see. He’s the biggest sausage kid I know (he’s not really a kid… in fact, he has a kiddo of his own now, but you know what I mean). 🙂 He’ll eat it breakfast, lunch or dinner!

We always have sausages in the house as we love a good toad in the hole or sausage and egg hash, there are so many dishes you can use them in x

There is no better way to have Cumberland sausages than with mash and gravy. Such a perfect combination. Now that I’ve seen them here, I’m craving a nice plate of bangers and mash.
