Making Flavored Yogurt with Easiyo

[Ad- gifted products] When it comes to making our own food, we have had some experience creating yogurt previously, however it relied on a type of milk that I found difficult to obtain and kind of expensive. Easiyo is a different way to create yogurt; it’s a sort of device that you can easily add yogurt mixes into it, make sure they are up to temperature, then wait a few hours and you suddenly have yoghurt.

To be honest, I didn’t think the yoghurt was going to work out when I first got the device. It’s this big, orange container that you are just meant to put boiled water into, add in a container of the pre-packaged powder, and wait. Surely, that wouldn’t make any sort of yoghurt?! There is this sort of inner container where you are meant to add hot water in to, then add in the powder. You do have to put a sticker-thing on the outside of the container so that you can tell the temperature, and this didn’t really work. The sticker didn’t seem to be able to change color and detect the temperature of the water, but even without that, I pressed on.

Mixing in the key lime powder, for the dessert-style yogurt, I put it into the boiling water container where it sits above the water, screwed on the top, and then let it sit for hours. Once the time was done, I moved the inner yogurt container into the fridge and let it chill overnight, before opening the Easiyo yogurt in the morning. Now, this yogurt did work – it was clearly the texture and taste of yogurt. It’s a more natural yogurt so we did add some toppings and syrups so that it was slightly sweeter, but it was delicious. I really liked the amount of lime flavor in it, and so did Kai, who loves lime as well.

Easiyo has a variety of different flavors of yogurt, including seasonal flavors, which is pretty nice when it comes to variety. There is even a subscription model where you can pick different flavors and have them mailed to you each month. As it’s so simple to actually make the yogurt, it’s easy to get these sachets and use them when you want to, allowing you to store yogurt packets in your cabinet until you want to make some. I feel the design of the Easiyo is very easy to use and the container that you make the yogurt in also being a storage container is very good too. If you are a fan of natural styled yogurt, you’ll really enjoy this! We ended up making some parfaits and eating them as is as well.

It is so nice to be able to have different flavors, the same one over and over can get so boring. I also like adding fresh fruit to my yogurt, it is such a delicious breakfast or small snack!
