Becoming a Plant Parent with Eddington House Nursery

Eddington House Nursery

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to plants, I can’t seem to get enough of them. Maybe it comes with getting older or wanting the finer things in life, but having plants around my house is something that brings joy to me. I love seeing them grow and change – seeing them thrive and continue on pushing forward. I’ve dabbled with quite a few plant subscriptions in the past, though I have found it’s hard to find one that is reliable and can deliver plants to your door – as none of us are able to go out now-a-days.

When it comes to keeping plants alive, I have found that things like cactus can be too easily overwatered in our household – and when you have two plant parents trying to keep our babies alive, it can be a struggle to actually communicate enough to water them. Eddington House Nursery, as it turns out, has the answer – and that seems to be succulents. Succulents only need to be watered about once a month! They are very durable, and the nursery has a pretty simple to follow guide, which tells you all about how to keep your little babies alive. All of them came perfectly alive in the boxes, with ample amount of packaging to protect them.

Once we had our little collection, we did have A MURDER in our household. Pancake seemed to not like the idea of siblings, and actually tried to eat one of the plants. He’s fine, but the plant itself did die shortly after, and we could not seem to get it back to life. We did re-pot these plants, purchasing a set of pots from PengSucculents on Etsy, as they have pots perfect for succulents. Succulents don’t want too much water, so all of their pots have drainage holes, which Eddington House Nursery stated was very important. We also had a single pot in our garage, which we planted the first plant into the same day we got them in the mail.

Unlike pets or real children, these plants will last even if I don’t water them for a week or two, and don’t need much care or looking after. Instead, I get to see them, enjoy their color and look, and feel like I am helping something grow – without putting in too much effort. It’s wintertime in the UK, which means that there is less growing outside – and it’s nice to have some green inside the house to enjoy. There are a verity of different succulents and other, more challenging plants as well – so if you are looking to be a plant parent and have been holding off, there is no better time then now to welcome some green children into your own home.

I recently got spent a pot plant from the organisation I’m volunteering for as a thank you, although it didn’t really survive the journey and I don’t think I’m going to be able to keep it alive

Those little pots are so adorable! I love that they not only provide at-home delivery, but they also support you in your journey as a plant parent by providing much-needed information!!! I bought a couple of succulents as part of a fundraiser here last year, but they are still in their boring brown pots. You’ve reminded me that I need to find pots to help them match my decor better.
