We don’t often do lunch out, but on a particularly busy weekday, Dann and I were running errands in our local town center and decided to go for lunch at Fireway Pizza, who have a quite affordable lunch deal that essentially cuts the price of the pizzas in half, while keeping them the same shape. We both were up for pizza, so went in, as we never had actually ordered from here before.

Fireway Pizza is actually a chain that you can find around London and the few towns that are considered Greater London, though they started as one shop in 2016. Their pizzas are fired in a proper wood-fired oven, with fresh ingredients, which really makes a difference. The actual venue is very clean and well lit, with the pizzas being made right behind the glass counter, so you can see them. A lot of fast food places often feel less clean than this one, which is always a plus. Dann and I both got pizzas and a dessert.
Roma Pizza & Pestuno

I went with the Roma Pizza at Fireway which has a tomato base, with pepperoni and jalapenos. In England, with pepperoni, sometimes you get a sort of greasy salami, but this was proper and very good. I like the jalapenos and the crust was very thin! Dann got the Pestuno which is a pesto base with mushroom, entire black olives and spinach. This pizza, Dann felt, could have had double the amount of pesto, but otherwise was very good. You can turn any of the pizza’s on the menu into calzones as well, but that’s not included in the lunch special. They also have a bunch of pastas and salads, so it does feel very Italian.
Cannolis

We also grabbed some cannolis to go with our pizza. I got the lemon, which had a very thick, lemon-frosting filling. There were three in my cup. Dann got pistachio, which came with four in the cup. His also had a thick frosting like filling, but it wasn’t sweet enough for either of us. We both liked the lemon far better. The shell was a bit thick and we could tell that these were likely shipped into the venue, but they are a nice idea.
I cannot believe we hadn’t tried Fireway Pizza before. I do like the cleanness of the place and watching the pizzas be made. Their lunch deal is really well priced as well, making it a good lunch stop!
I am a pizza lover. I wish they have place near me, I am now cravings pizza.
Overall it sounds like a nice place to try out. I think I like the sound of the pesto pizza with the mushrooms. I’ve never actually tried cannelloni before.
The pizzas look delicious…But the Cannolis omg…They’re to die for…I am literally drooling.
Ooh, this looks like some really tasty pizza! Their cannolis look so tasty, too! They’re my favorite 🙂
I’m sold on the idea of fresh, wood-fired pizza made right in front of you. Definitely adding Fireway to my must-try list!
I love real, homemade pizza. When I see a pizza crust that thas bubbles like that, I know I’m looking at the real deal.
You can’t beat authentic Italian food with a stick! I absolutely love the look of those pizzas, and the cannolis are calling my name.
My husband and I don’t usually do lunch out either. The pizzas look amazing, and those cannolis look delightful! And now, I think I’m hungry!
I love a cannoli so anywhere that does them is an instant hit for me. That place looks so familiar, I wonder if we have a franchise if theirs near me in Dunstable, I’ll have to have a nosy x
I haven’t visited this place before. The pizzas look sooooo good. It’s great to hear that they use fresh ingredients and that the restaurant was clean. The Pestuno pizza sounds great and a pizza I would love to try myself.
