Ghosts Can’t Draw – Fun Drawing Board Game

[Ad- gifted product] Another board game for our by-weekly tabletop night as a family, this time with a favorite theme; drawing. Though Ghosts Can’t Draw is marketed as for Halloween, our family really love board games about drawing like Ten Second Scribble or Scribble Shake Down, so our girls were very excited about Ghosts Can’t Draw. This game is sort of inspired by an Ouija board, but where one of you are the ghosts!

Basically, in Ghosts Can’t Draw, a small number of cards is divided up between the players at the start of each round. One of the cards has a simple word on it, which is what the person that gets that card needs to draw. The rest of the players get cards that say they are in the investigators. Then, everyone puts their two fingers on the ghost in the middle, which has a marker sticking out of it, and they close their eyes. Whoever the ghost is will start carefully drawing, without alerting others to who they are. Once they are done drawing or the time is out, everyone lets go of the ghost.

The picture is revealed, then at the same time everyone votes on who they think actually drew the picture. If you are correct, you get two guesses to the next phase, otherwise you only get one. The ghost gets points when people pick them and if someone solves the picture as well. Solving the picture isn’t just about guessing what’s correct. The ghost will grab 7 word cards, shuffle in the card they have, then present all of these answers. Everyone else can take a guess by placing a Ghost Token on the answer or answers they think are correct, and the Ghost will get points if they do guess correctly (as will the guesser).

Ghosts Can’t Draw is pretty funny – without being able to see and on a board where you cannot pick up the pen, there are some wild and wacky drawings! I was surprised at how challenging it is to guess who the ghost is, and it’s so much fun when the picture gets revealed. Robin has said this is her current favorite drawing game, and she didn’t even know the ghost glows in the dark when she made that decision. Ghosts Can’t Draw feels like a very unique and well made board game for all ages.
