[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to subscriptions, we have tried out a variety of different subscription boxes, but sometimes it’s nice to get a Magazine that can be flipped through and enjoyed. If that magazine comes with a bunch of really cool toys too, that’s a huge bonus! GirlTalk is a girl focused magazine for teens and tweens, that comes with a bunch of different toys on he front. They have plenty of copies at our local Tesco, but can be purchased online and subscribed too as well.
The GirlTalk Magazine Issue 678 is one that is aimed at the new year! There are a bunch of different articles in there that round up 2021 and talk about future trends and about all of the next year. Amelia found the horoscope themed outfits for the entire year to be a really cool read! There are plenty of interactive sections of this magazine, both Amelia and Robin did a best friend quiz to see if they knew each other very well (they did), which included a bit where you can write what the other person loves most about you – it was a really sweet moment to come up with! There was a giant word search, with the theme of fidgets, a few coloring pages, and some puzzles. Amelia and Robin had a great time doing the emojis to guess the name of the movie, as they have seen so many!
It’s a magazine that does have something for everyone, as there is such a big variety of pages and things to do. Neither of the girls have a big knowledge of pop stars or trending songs, but there are plenty of pages that cater to that as well, with a whole activity around guessing popular song names that I was able to help them with, and a page where you can guess the pop star, who has animal masks over them, which Robin thought was very funny. With so many different types of articles, it does take some time to flip through it!
This issue of GirlTalk Magazine had a few different prizes on the front, including a pen that had several colors in it and was decorated with a Christmas tree, a few hair clips that are quite cool looking, and some nail polish in pink, that you could have hung on the Christmas tree, but Robin would love to hang it on her bag to bring to school. The nail polish was good quality – as often children’s nail polish can be a bit cheap and hard to put on, this one was ideal. Inside the calendar, along with a bunch of posters that are perfect for someone who likes decorating their wall, there is a planner. This planner is pretty unique, as there are different scratch off parts that contain codes from major brands, to get deals or free items on that day! There are a lot of different, clever ideas for this – an entire week of new exercises, some codes for Roblox games, a free popcorn on national popcorn day – it’s very well thought out!
When I was young I loved my magazines, I used to get Smash Hits and Big. My girls are teens now but I did used to buy Girl Talk and they really enjoyed the freebies that came with it.
