[Ad- gifted product] Robin really loves fairies. She has a fairy themed room, tons of fairy toys, and enjoys pretending to be a fairy too. So, when we saw the Got2Glow Fairy Finder, we knew this would be a hit in our household for Robin! This toy reminded me a lot of Tamagotchi – the little digital pets that you could carry around on a key chain, but reinvented into an entirely new thing. Though Robin played a lot with this toy, Amelia also checked it out and caught a few fairies herself.
Got2Glow Fairy Finder is a large fairy jar with a little display on the front. The jar itself is ’empty’ at first, and the display will show that there are no fairies. You can then lift the lid area to allow any fairies that are invisible, flying around you in the world, to fly in. Robin walked around the whole house with the lid open, trying to find each different fairy in each different room. You see, there are over 200 fairies to collect, which is a lot of fairies. You can only have one fairy at a time in your jar, though, which means you need to open the hatch door to let them back out of the jar before getting a new one.
Once you do have a fairy in your jar, it will show up on your screen. There are a lot of different fairies, including little baby ones, ones that look like gems, and the tooth fairy (she’s obviously very well known). Fairies can show up at different locations, which really encourage children to get out and about in nature, as well as take these jars with them wherever they go! The jar has a little handle, which does make them quite easy to carry carry around with them, on their own.
Got2Glow Fairy Finder does let you interact with your fairies. You can hug them, feed them, and help them get better when they are sick. Many of the fairies that Robin ended up finding were sneezing – clearly in need of some care. Robin felt it was her job now to take care of them until they were better, before letting them leave the jar and continue on with their life. I found this to be a really cute reason to be ‘capturing’ these creature, addressing the fact that they shouldn’t just trap whatever they want into a jar, but that sick creatures might need a little extra help.
This fairy finder does also come with a phone app, that you can use to keep track of the number of fairies that you have collected, but you can also see this on the Got2Glow Fairy Finder display too, so we didn’t end up using the app much at all. Even without the use of the app, this toy is really magically, especially for those who like exploring and collecting! These fairies are very cute and fun to interact with as well.
