When it comes to finding activities to do while stuck in side, there have been so many new delivery services that have provided not only fun activities but also amazing foods! Dann and I have date nights each week and are always on the look out for something new to do. When the Artbox Cafe was open, we visited there, checking out all of the cute menus and characters that were featured – so when we saw Cutter & Squidge had partnered with Hello Kitty to create an afternoon tea experience at home, we wanted to try one out!
When you order this box, as it contains food, you are able to pick the delivery date you want to eat the meal on, which is always a plus. Inside our Hello Kitty afternoon tea, we got a menu of everything, 4 heart-shaped scones, a pot of strawberry jam, 2 pots of clotted cream, 2 large ruby chocolate blondies, 2 chocolate caramel cakes, a bag of loose leaf peach and cream tea and a limited edition Hello Kitty x Cutter & Squidge tea towel. All of this is in an adorable Hello Kitty box!
Scones, Jam and Cream
When it comes to the actual food, the scones are the only thing you need to actually prepare, by heating them up for around 5 minutes in the oven, until they are golden – which then means you can eat fresh, warm scones straight out of the oven! All of the food in this box is more than enough for tea for two, we ended up only eating half of each of our desserts and sharing them for later. The scones, cream, and jam are delicious and exactly what you’d expect. I quite liked the little jar of jam, it wasn’t too sweet at all!
Chocolate Cakes and Ruby Chocolate Blondies
The little cakes were really amazing! Both were super sweet, perfect to go with your meal, and there was plenty. The blondie was denser than a cake and more like a really big brownie! I loved the little decorations, which fit the theme very well. My only issue with them – and it’s a small one – is that I expected little bits of dehydrated strawberries on top, but instead there was just a powder. The Chocolate caramel cakes were moist, delicious, tons of frosting and a bunch of caramel in it, along with chunks of soft caramel too! We ended up eating about half each and saving the rest for later.
Tea and Tea Towel
The loose leaf peach and cream tea was very yummy – we do love fruit teas and this one was quite peach forward. It is a loose leaf, so you do need something to brew it in, but there is plenty for 4+ cups of tea (we have had it a few times since the afternoon tea ourselves). The tea towel is cute, though I wish it had some color to it (I do fear white towels will stain at any moment) but it was a freebie, and exclusive to the kit, so that’s what makes it cute.
When it comes to the Hello Kitty Afternoon Tea, we had a great time. This brings so much more to the normal day to day bustle, and not having to make little deserts adds a lot to the party! I love Hello Kitty so having the cute themed touches were really lovely.
Ooh! This is interesting. I had to Google what clotted cream was. This is such a cute box! I would love to purchase something like this when I can see my niece again. Thanks for sharing x
