Exploring HMV Harlow’s Care Bears Selection to find Bedtime Bear

[Ad- gifted product] Though Robin is a very brave girl and doesn’t need a bedtime night light, she does love new plushies and enjoys space themed items so much. When we went to HMV in Harlow to check out their Care Bear collection, she fell in love with the Bedtime Bear Glowing Belly Care Bears Plush, which is limited edition and only had two in stock. This bear is such a big upgrade from the Care Bears of my childhood!

But first, we explored the section. Care Bears aren’t really a strictly child-only brand anymore. There were a ton of different candles that caught our eye, as Robin enjoys smelling them. There were actually three types of candles; classic, single color candles that were themed after specific bears, candles which had a 3D head shape of a specific bear as the main thing you melt, and wax melt style candles that are completely shaped like an individual bear. We spent some time smelling them all. It’s worth noting that a specific Care Bears’ scent was the same across all products if it had that bear’s name on it!

Along with the candles, there were a bunch of household supplies in our local shop; a colorful tumbler of course that Robin was delighted to see had Care Bears upside down. There were mugs and pins too. A bright and vibrant notebook was on display, a pencil case with some little stationery items and even some pens with big rubber Care Bears decorating them were on this shelf. Above this area, there were some smaller, mini-bears that all seemed to have a bit of a Halloween theme going on; ones with bones on them or in a witch-y looking outfit. There were some classics I remember from when I was young too, specifically Grumpy Bear made an appearance! There were Care Bears Storage pots, perfect for a packed lunch too. I quite liked the variety of items, even with the small section space.

One thing I really thought Robin would go with was the Care Bears Lil Besties blind box, as she is such a blind bag girlie. She looked at the box for quite some time, but really wanted to get one big Care Bear, so that’s how she settled on the Bedtime Bear Glowing Belly Care Bear Plush! This plushie comes with a certificate of authenticity and is quite the well made bear. There are a bunch of little stars on them, done in gold detail. Their ears and feet are also golden. This golde feels fun to touch, especially compared to the soft material of the bear. The back of the Bedtime Bear has a Velcro section, with a battery pack and On / Off switch tucked inside. This bear comes with batteries already, which is handy, as you just need to open this, flick a switch, and then you have a soft night light!

The belly of the Bedtime Bear lights up, appearing as a circle highlighting the belly. The light isn’t too much to disturb someone trying to sleep and is quite golden and soft itself. The bear doesn’t feel hard around the light up section either, which I was surprised about! The battery pack is a little tricky to get in and out at first, but once you sort of play around with it, it becomes much easier to use. Robin really loves the design of this bear and with the quality of the design, we feel it will last for quite some time in our home!
