[Ad- gifted product] Kai has started his first year at Secondary School, which is always a big step in a child’s life. Secondary school comes with more freedom, a completely different school, and a lot more hanging out with friends it seems! Though he isn’t quite a teenager yet, he’s not at the age where he has a mobile phone, but we wanted to be able to communicate with Kai when he gets out of school and is over at friends home – as well as ensure he can communicate with us in case he needs us. That’s where the IMOO Smart Watch comes in. It’s a great device for those who aren’t quite ready for the freedom of a mobile but still might want to communicate and have a way to talk to friends and family. This watch provides quite a bit of peace of mind when it comes to ensuring your child can contact you and knowing where your child is, in case of an emergency.
The IMOO Smart Watch Z1 includes many of the features of a mobile phone, but with the ability to monitor the device and tweak it for your child’s needs. The watch itself can make calls, send voice or text messages to approved numbers, take photos, show a map and more. You can set up group chats which are monitored from your phone and add in numbers so your child won’t forget it. There are a bunch of kid-friendly features as well, like the ability to earn coins that open up chests and level up your character, through shaking your arm and generally using the watch itself. These chests give goals to get too, when it comes to trying to The IMOO Z1 does need an active SIM Card, with data, in order to work – but you can connect the watch to WiFi as well.
Using the companion app, which a parent can bind the watch to on their phone, you can monitor and change settings directly on the app – changing the volume of the watch, seeing where your child is, and even setting up times when the watch will go to sleep and not be useable, if you have trouble keeping your children in bed. There is a classroom mode where you can select the times your child is in school and prevent them from messing around with the watch at that time. You can program the watch to know where your home is and where your child’s school is, so that you can ensure they are where they are meant to be at times when they need to be at specific places. It’s pretty simple to bind the watch to the app – and it’s easy to manage the IMOO through this app, adding in people and changing your child’s settings so that they are all set up, though it is worth mentioning that the instructions do not list the best type of SIM card (we got one with data) and that sometimes the binding process can take a chunk of your time. Once set up, however, it works so well!
This watch is also really sleek looking – reminding us of an Apple Watch but for children. Though it is a little bulky, it’s sleek and much easier to keep track of then a mobile phone, as it’s attached to your child’s wrist. we have been playing around with the IMOO for a fair bit now and have found it to be a great alternative. As there isn’t any real games within the watch (compared to a phone which can have thousands of games added to it) it’s not really a distraction at school and is not something that Kai is tempted to use. This watch also gives us the peace of mind that Kai can contact us whenever he needs too, via text, voice recording, or simply through calling – so there are tons of options there. He also feels like this gadget is really cool – which is very helpful in him using and interacting with the watch itself.
This watch sounds perfect for my girls. We’re trying to juggle pick ups and it’s all got to be prearranged and then they need to remember different times from day to day. This would make it much easier.
It is really a useful gadget!
I never thought to use a watch to ease anxiety! That is awesome. I’ll have to check it out.
It’s much easier to keep track of everyone and ensure they can always contact you!
I’ve been thinking about getting something like this for my oldest son. He is 8 and just started 3rd grade. He isn’t ready for a phone, but it would be nice to have that communication option, especially since he wants to start riding his bike to school soon.
Yeah exactly this! Kai isn’t really ready for a phone, but at the same time, does want some of the freedom when it comes to walking home with friends and such.
This sounds like such a great watch as it gives the kids something grown up but the parents peace of mind for safety x
It really does!
IMOO Smart Watch sounds and looks so cool. Looks like a great device for kids to have their independence but parents are still able to have some form of control
Yeah exactly, there is a really good balance to this watch.
I am loving all the features that The IMOO Smart Watch Z1 has! It does sound like a great smart watch for kids. I need to check it out for my 11 year old cousin, he’ll love this gadget for sure ❤️
