Trying the Little Big Flavour Kits Pineapple Curry

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to trying new foods, often these types of easy-to-use kits are a great introduction! I had not ever heard of a pineapple, meat-free curry, but was very excited to try the Little Big Flavours Kits Pineapple Curry. We took this kit on holiday with us to Center Parcs Elveden, as it only takes a few ingredients and creates a lot of easy, delicious food. It felt like the perfect little kit to have in our cabin, ready for a meal in. We’ve tried Little Big Flavour Kits before, so this felt like a great thing to have in our bag. If this or any of their kits is something you want to try, you can get 15% off until the end of September by using code JUPITER15 on their website.

The kit needed one onion, one pineapple, and some garlic, along with hot water and a bit of oil, to create the recipe. I do like the way that Little Big Flavour Kits open up – all of the spices and even coconut milk (that you only need to add hot water onto) are all inside the package. The box itself also transforms into a stand, which has the whole recipe on it, so that you can stand it up on your counter and easily see it while cooking. It’s just very good design!

Inside the Little Big Flavour Kits Pineapple Curry, there were various packets of spices, clearly labelled. I started off by dicing my entire pineapple and onion. I then cooked the onion and the packet of big, full spices in a bit of oil until the mustard seeds had started popping. From there, the kitchen smelled delicious! Another packet of seasoning went in next, which started smelling fragrant after a few moments. I then added everything else in – the pineapple, coconut milk that I had made with the boiling water and covered the curry to cook and thicken. During this time, I did put some naan bread on and some rice, as they feel like the perfect side dishes.

We played up when the core of the pineapple was cooked through, which did take longer than I expected! The curry itself was spiced – very deep and delicious flavor especially for something that took less than an hour to make. Kai found the spices to be very good and felt this would make a great meat curry as well (he’s all about his protein). Robin, another lover of spice, felt the dish was interesting, unlike anything she has had before, and Amelia did like the sweet pineapple, but found it to be a little too spicy for her. Dann and I quite enjoyed the Little Big Flavour Kits Pineapple Curry – it was something different, but yet very easy to make and follow the recipe of!

I think I’d be like Amelia and find it a bit too spicy as I’m a bit of a wimp. But it’s always nice to try new things x
