Try New Dishes with Little Big Flavour Kits

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to trying new foods, especially cuisines that you have not tried before, it can be very daunting to make them at home! Often, we have curries when ordering takeaway, but it’s not something we’ve really dived into making too many times before, due to not having much experience in how to make it. It’s the same with side dishes within that type of meal. That’s why we were so excited when Little Big Flavour Kits reached out with their new range of Indian meal kits, which break down how to make the meal and provide all of the different spices for easy use.

Little Big Flavour Kits Pepper Beef Curry

The Little Big Flavour Kits Pepper Beef Curry was the main in this collection of new foods to try. This kit only needed a few ingredients to make; beef chunks, a can of tomatoes, an onion, water, vinegar and worcestershire sauce. I quite enjoy the fact that I didn’t really need much at all and everything else was already included in the kit. The next big thing that I really liked about this kit was the way the kit packaging was designed. Inside the carboard exterior, there are a bunch of packets with letters on them, so you can visually see exactly when you need to do the next step.

You can also reverse the packaging to make the recipe, which is printed on the inside of the package, stand up – allowing you to easily read and cook as you go. This is fantastic for teens and tweens looking to start cooking and experimenting in the kitchen! When it came to cooking the Little Big Flavour Kits Pepper Beef Curry, the scent on the marinating meat was fantastic. It’s not any sort of spices I have ever smelled. Sometimes, meal kits can be less powerful on the flavour, but these kits were fantastic. It did take me longer than the hour needed on the package to make this kit, but not too much longer!

Cooking the kit was easy, though as it’s a curry it does take quite a bit of time, if that makes sense. Meat needs to stew for a while and simmer away, to get soft and tender. At the same time, there isn’t a lot to really do, so it’s a great introductory recipe to follow. Adding in the different spices or bringing the coconut milk to life is simple enough and felt good. In the end, we ended up with a fantastic, flavourful curry. I have to say, there were a lot of dried spices, which we weren’t use too, so we had a little bowl on the table to pull out cinnamon sticks and lemon grass. There was optional chili flakes that you could add too, if your family wants a kick.

Little Big Flavour Kits Coconut Roti

The Little Big Flavour Kits Coconut Roti is a fantastic side dish for the Pepper Beef Curry. This kit is a massive bag, which you can add into a bowl, along with water and a bit of oil. You then need to knead it and let it rise for a while, which we just set aside. I have never made roti before and didn’t realize it would be so easy to just make up! When I was ready (and the dough had risen a bit), we balled them up and fried them in a dry pan. I made mine quite big, because I didn’t want a dozen small ones, but the package did suggest a dozen small. It’s nice that you can make as many as you want really, and this kit does make quite a large amount! It’s an ideal side dish, and we used it to mop up some of our curry and to mop up our relish.

Little Big Flavour Kits Pol Sambol

Now, I am not very familiar with Indian cooking, as previously mentioned, so I had never had Pol Sambol before. This is described, on the packet, as a sort of relish. You just need to heat it and add water, really, and it’s done! This, to me, was sort of like a coconut spice thing that went super well with the Roti. You could easily pinch up a bit of it in your roti, dip it into your curry, and have something so full of flavor. It was a bit spicy, but not too spicy, and very flavourful! Dann and I aren’t sure if this is something we would have ever tried previously, as we hadn’t really heard of it, but with the ease of the kit, it was such a good addition to our meal.

Little Big Flavour Kits are a great way to easily start cooking Indian food. There are so many to choose from, allowing you to pick a type of meat you enjoy or a flavour profile that you may be more familiar with. It’s really nice that these kits do pack so much flavour! If you are looking to try something new, it’s a fantastic start.
