I am sure you have seen the viral, adorable, moon and stars themed cat climbing frame on the internet. When I first saw the climbing frame, I honestly thought it was fake. I’ve previously purchased fake items from the internet, and been extremely sad. So I waited to see if other people had purchased the cat frame and put it together, keeping my eye on the Moonlight Cat Climbing Frame and getting ready to decide if it was something I would be picking up.
Fast forward to after Christmas. Happy and Polly have a massive discount on their cat climbing frames, and I am ready to take the dive! So, I purchased the largest Moonlight Cat Climbing Frame I could get. As it turns out, you can get any of their climbing frames in a bunch of different options, showcased with letters. Each of these designs can be in a small, almost mini-cat tower situation, but get bigger and bigger to become an ultimate tower! I got the Moonlight Cat Climbing Frame F, while it was in stock in the UK, and it did not charge extra import tax, which was something I was worried about as the prices are in USD.
How fast was shipping?
I found a code for 20% off the cat climbing frame, which on top of the discount that was already on the site, actually worked. This allowed me to get the expedited shipping for free! The shipping made the cat tower come within two days, which was really, really exciting, as I had already waited so long to purchase the tower. The entire thing came flat packed, in one pretty large box, which was delivered quickly that allowed me to open up the box and get right into putting it together.
How was the instructions?
Now, some background on me. I purchase almost all of our furniture from IKEA. I find furniture shopping to be really stressful, so I always pick items from IKEA, take them home, and then put them together. Sitting in my living room, I can point and touch 9 different items I have purchased from IKEA and built. That doesn’t include any of the bedrooms, which again, are just IKEA things, I have built. So, I am accustomed to building things using pretty garbage instructions which have no words. That said, the Moonlight Cat Climbing Frame was frustrating to put together.
There is no colored picture, so I ended up looking one up on my phone for reference. It is hard to make out the different labelled parts that you are meant to be using, and the screws and parts are the only things that are labelled. I ended up putting the base and first circle base on the wrong way around – without realizing that one, there was a right way, and two, I had done it wrong. This resulted in me having to take the entire thing apart midway through and restart. It was annoying. The cat frame would have done better with literally some basic labelling on the parts itself. I know well enough not to fully screw anything in until you are a 100 percent sure, which was a lifesaver here. At the bottom of the cat tower, there are four little hooks and a little hammock, which is super cute, but it is nearly impossible to get the hooks from the hammock in – and as a result, I struggled a lot at that point. It is worth mentioning Pancake was hyped as soon as I unboxed this cat frame, and was climbing all over it the entire time.
How has the tower held up?
Pancake is king of the tower. He basically never leaves the tower, and loves being at the top. There are plenty of hanging things for him to attack, and giant cloud to hide behind, which he really loves. He even sits and sleeps inside the circle hanging thing, which I honestly didn’t think would hold up but has. Pesto seems to have gotten to keep the bottom of the tower, often sitting on the perch or inside the little hidden cove, where he sleeps or plays with the star hanging their. Neither of them seem to trust the hammock that hangs at the bottom, and I don’t blame them, I wouldn’t either! They both seem to really love it, and the tower has plenty of scratching bits that they seem to use often! I am so glad they enjoy it as much as I enjoy seeing it, as it is super adorable! Though I do feel one of the clouds will need to be replaced sooner rather than later…

The tower is a hit with Pancake. Pesto is quite like me; we feel safer on the ground floor. The climbing frame looks like a fantastic toy for cats.
Yeah, he isn’t as adventurous on this tower, and has stuck mainly to his window perches.
This looks like it would be a lot of fun for a cat! I love the colors!
How fun is that?! I love the theme…I’m sure you cat is having a ball with that tower!
They really are!
This is the most adorable climbing Frame ever. I so love it, my sister’s cat would love it!
It is really beautiful!
What a fabulous climbing frame and both Pancake and Pesto look so happy on it. Moonlight Cat Climbing Frame does sound tedious to put up but glad you managed it
I was pretty determined
This is so freaking cute. It reminds me of the cat Luna from the anime series Sailor Moon a bit.
It does!!
