[Ad- gifted product] PAW Patrol video games are something we play quite frequently in our household, especially on our Xbox. Recently, PAW Patrol: Grand Prix has released, giving children a new adventure to go on, with their favorite pups! In this game, the PAW Patrol are looking to win the Pup Cup, racing around different familiar locations racing against each other.
There are two different gameplay modes within PAW Patrol: Grand Prix; an adventure mode that has bits of story, taking you from track to track, racing against bots who play as all the pups. There is also a multiplayer mode, allowing two to four players to play as their favorite pups, racing against each other and bots to find the winner! In the adventure mode, you can unlock different hats for your pups too, which is fun.
Robin was mostly excited about the multiplayer mode, as she loves playing with her friends and family! The game itself runs like most other racing games; there are speed up portions of the track, collectables, and power ups that can be grabbed from the track. Dog bones are what you are aiming to collect and badges that give you power ups, like a giant water balloon to hit another player or big explosions of confetti which can make their view on their screen more limited. The tracks all are easy to follow and understand. The bots aren’t too challenging and will let your little one win most of the time, which is always good in a kids game!
Customizing your pup’s car is a really fun feature in PAW Patrol: Grand Prix as the little hats are so cute and fun. Robin played through some of the adventure mode just to unlock the ones she wanted, so that she could look adorable when she plays against her sister, Dann and I! We didn’t find any real bugs within the game, and enjoyed the racing element of PAW Patrol – an entirely new game that we weren’t expecting after the string of adventure platformers featuring the pups.
I am so out of the loop with games these days, my grandkids would love this as love Paw Patrol
