Plus-Plus is a new building toy

Plus-Plus Review

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to imagination and building toys, there are quite a few different ones out there. Our entire house is obsessed with Lego, with each of our children having their own boxes and shelves to display their creations. With that in mind, when I saw Plus-Plus, I knew that everyone would really enjoy these building shapes, and that the compact size of them meant that we could actually take them on adventures and on holiday!

With Easter break coming up, we packed up three of the Plus-Plus packs, and went on holiday. Plus-Plus have a bunch of different tubes of these little pluses, that can interlink together really easily. Their packages contain a hundred of the shapes, in a scheme of colors. We got a fairy one, a chick one, and a more generalized neon one. The themed packages come with instructions on how to make their specific character (the fairy and the chick) with the neon one having more general ideas on what to do with the neon spectrum.

Robin and Amelia quickly took to building up their Plus-Plus figures, and we soon found that these tubes had completely different ranges of ability. The chick itself was very easy to build, following the much shorter step by step instructions, where as the fairy was far more challenging and had many more parts to build. Both of these did have extra Plus-Plus items to continue to build with, which was good! We did wish there was some difficulty indication on the tube, so that we’d have known which was more challenging.

Other than that, the Plus-Plus tubes were very well loved on our holiday and at home. Robin and Amelia made scenes with them, little tacos, bats, and played pretend with the small worlds they were building. The pieces don’t get stuck like Lego and are much easier for them to pull apart and bring together, and the soft feel of them allow them to be bent and manipulated so they can really play pretend. The amount that come in each tube are plenty to play with and even a handful, played with in the car, is a great time!

Plus-Plus is a great option for those who like building and creating. Having something that is this compact and travel friendly also feels like a really good way to keep children busy on long car rides and to fill up time on holidays or on the go. Everything does go neatly back into the tubes, and you can even clip them onto the outside of bags, making them ideal for those who do travel and are often on the go. The large number in the tube also means that losing one or two won’t be the end of the world!

What a great and simple idea. I love that it has extra pieces and that it is easily portable, taking up little space.

Looks a bit more ‘hands-on’ than the usual things that seem to keep the nephew and niece catatonic in front of a screen!
