[Ad- gifted product] Do you remember playing with bubble wrap as a kid? It seems that less and less packages are actually coming with bubble wrap and instead opt for larger bubble packaging or going with paper packaging that can then be recycled. Though this is a great step for the world, I am sure kids everywhere are wondering what happened to bubble wrap. That’s the need that Push Poppers fulfil for me – they seem like someone wanted to make bubble wrap that you could pop forever. And they have.
When it comes to fidget toys, they are always a bit strange from the outside. When you look at Push Poppers, compared to other flashy or more interactive toys, at first you might not get it. Fidget cubes, fidget spinners and the like become a sensation for a reason – they are mindless play. Children like fiddling, finding something to do with their hands while they watch TV or sit in the car, and that’s the gap that fidget toys take up. When we got our Rainbow and Glow in the Dark Push Popper, I wasn’t sure if the eldest, Kai, would be interested in it as much as the youngest, Robin – but as it turns out, Push Poppers are just fun.
All of the kids in our household have been playing with these things. They seem to move around the house on their own, being pushed and plucked at from time to time. They always make it into the car on the way to school, waiting for the way home, and whenever we go to the park – they are in the bike basket or being handed to me to hold while the kids go off and play. It’s a toy that is easy to carry around, play with, and bring everywhere – and that is the appeal. One side of the Push Popper is more sensitive than the other, allowing you to barely touch it for it to pop, while the other requires more of a push – and that’s quite fun too. The kids have created a number of games with this toy, from blindfold trying to pop all of it as fast as possible to racing each other across rows.
At once point, Amelia even made a PowerPoint dedicated to her Push Poppers and how she wanted more shapes. A PowerPoint presentation. I literally had no idea she was working on it until she presented it to myself and Dann. It’s wild how much they like this simple toy! I am so glad they enjoy it and quite like fiddling with it myself, pushing and popping idly while watching TV. It’s a simple concept, but one that is quite adictivie.
You can find Push Poppers by HGL at Smyths, Clarrie’s and ToyMaster UK Stores.
Where is the sloth from? My friend’s daughter recently lost hers. Would love to know what the tag says and where you bought it if you remember. Thanks!!
I believe we got it from Smyths or LegoLand!
