[Ad- gifted products] The springtime in the United Kingdom is a mix of sunny days and rainy days, seemingly at random. We are a big adventure family, so as soon as parks make sense to go too, we do spend a lot of time outdoors. With that said, whenever it rains, we do have times indoors. Robin, the most adventurous of us, is one that is hard to entertain when it comes to sticking inside. Unlike her older siblings, she isn’t one to sit in front of the Xbox or a computer for very long, so we tend to have a few toys on hand for her to play around with! Wicked Uncle has so many great options, sorted by age, but here are two toys we love to play with on rainy days!
Flying Bee – Control with your hand!
The Flying Bee may look like a really small toy, but it keeps both Amelia and Robin entertained for a minimum of an hour, as they try to move the bee around the room. This little bee is turned on, then it’s wings start getting ready! It will then fly up into the air, before dipping back down, but once it senses a hand or a surface underneath, it will fly back up again. This bee does fly into a lot of stuff in our home, but the wings are made of soft plastic and there are little sensors that do keep it away from anything as well. There isn’t a way to get the Flying Bee to move left to right, which does make it a really random and fun game of keeping it up! The kit also comes with some replacement wings, just in case.
Go Genius World – Play & Learn Game
Another really fun game that we all enjoy playing together is Go Genius World – which is an educational board game. This board game is on the quicker side, so it’s one that you can spend some time playing as a family. There are a bunch of different leveled cards; from one to three points, as well as a forfeit deck. On your turn, you will roll two dice, move your character to a space, then pick up the card or do the action it says. Forfeits are often funny like pretending to be a dog or exercise related like having to do push-ups. The questions on the other cards rank from easy to hard depending on the point value. On your turn, another player needs to read the card to you, and you must attempt to answer it. A lot of these cards cover history questions from history all over the world. It’s aimed at children aged 7 and above, and covers topics they should be learning about at school.
There are a lot of other games and toys that you can find at Wicked Uncle, which can be perfect for rainy day entertainment! There is also a lot of different crafts, if your child is more into crafting or building toys if your child likes building!
As someone who’s always looking for new activities to do indoors, I found your suggestions really helpful and creative. I’m especially excited to try out the DIY lava lamps and make-your-own slime kit.
The flying bee is the cutest ever! I would love to get something like that for my daughter, she’d be super excited for sure.
These sound like great rainy day activities. It is nice to have some products that not only are fun, but keep kids learning too.
Looks like a great set for young ones…sometimes a rainy day indoors can create the best lasting memories. I remember my brother and I building forts and playing with legos when we were kids all the time. It’s so nice to take a break from technology too!
There are a lot of great games and toys and this is one of them. Rainy season is approaching here and I need more games like this.
Such fun indoor themed games here. I bet my children would love to both the Flying Bee as well as Go Genius World Game
These are so cool looking and that Flying Bee is everything! I am definitely looking for these!
