[Ad- gifted product] We tend to play board games on our bi-weekly Girls Night on Mondays at our local Geek Retreat, but this week we decided to go with something a little different. Instead of setting up a board game, we set up Riddle Pics Foodcourt Frenzy – one of the food riddle maps in Big Potato Games’ series of them. They’ve created a puzzle series where you build puzzles then find the riddles, but the Riddle Pics have a giant picture that you can then use to find lots of riddles.
Foodcourt Frenzy has a hundred different food related riddles; banana split (a person dressed as a banana doing a split) and BBQ (a kangaroo wrapped in barb wire) for example. The game is quite easy to set up and play as you just spread out the giant picture. On the back of the box, there is a checklist with scratch off bits to see if you got the riddle correct. There is also a smaller, grey map that shows which picture corresponds with each number. This is an extremely fun little game to play – with Dann, Robin, Amelia and I all pointing at different pictures and shooting out what we think they are.
The only real issue we had with Riddle Pics Foodcourt Frenzy was the scratch off answers. We tried scratching it off with a pound count, a penny and our fingers but just ended up scratching all of the paper up. We couldn’t get any of them to scratch to show us the answer, so started assuming all of our answers were correct. Though it’s not game breaking, if you do want to know the answers, hopefully you do have more lunch then us! Big Potato Games does a fantastic job of making sure that their plastic free and low waste, so it might have been something to do with that.
Either way Riddle Pics Foodcourt Frenzy is a fun little activity and kept us all engaged, especially as we raced through all of the easy to solve riddles and then debated over ones we both thought were slightly different. Robin feels exactly like a detective and we all had fun seeing the picture and slowly digesting the different pictures that can be seen in each one. Ice tea was a pretty easy solve but there were some items that we just don’t eat often, which can make things a little tricky! They have a bunch of different themes, so that you can pick one you are knowledgeable in.
This sounds great! I love games like this that make you think a little but not so much that it’s no fun.
This sounds like a lot of fun. I know we’d have a blast with it. I think I’ll get it as a family Christmas gift this year.
I have not heard of this game before, but it sounds like a great fun game that is the perfect family game for Christmas
This is such a fun game to complete with friends and family, I’ve never seen a game like this but I like it. I will be sure to check it out!
I love board games, I have a large collection of them…I can’t wait to add this one to my collection, it seems super fun….
This looks like so much fun! It’s such a shame that scratching them wasn’t as easy as it should be.
Never heard of this but the girls would absolutely love it I know that for sure .
