Rubik’s Phantom is a new way to solve a Rubik!

Rubik's Phantom

[Ad- gifted product] I feel like everyone has had their fair share of Rubik Cubes in their lifetime. It’s just one of those toys that seemingly has been around forever and will never go away. We have had a bunch of Rubik Cubes in our household, even, but we have never had a Rubik’s Phantom, which almost looks like a solved Rubik when left out on your counter, but a bit of playing will reveal if it really is solved or not.

Rubik’s Phantom is a normal Rubik cube, apart from all of the squares appear black. Though with some close looking, you can find that there is a slight difference between these shades of black, from a distance or quick look it does look solved. When you press your fingers onto the cube, warming it up, you will find that the colors under each square actually appear; classic red, yellow, white etc. This reveal is something that brings new life to a Rubik, and all three of our children found the cube to be interesting and fun to play with.

There isn’t much worry about messing up a cube that, when left alone, looks black to everyone. That being said, there is a lot of challenge when it comes to solving the Rubik within a time limit, as the cube really does need to warm up before it reveals the majority of every color on every square. You’ll end up spending a lot of time holding the cube so that you can then see what is on each square. Amelia and Robin spent a lot of time just trying to make the entire cube colorful before they even decided to twist any of it, as if the main goal was to make it light up. Kai found it fun to twist around and then announce that he had, in fact, solved it because it all looked black anyway.

The Rubik’s Phantom is just as easy to twist as a classic Rubik, and with this sort of color-changing aspect of it, there is a lot of fun to be had with such a classic toy. It works well as a fidget as well, something to randomly play around with when trying to focus on other things. I was really surprised at how vibrant the colors came through too!

The Rubik’s Phantom seems like a fascinating twist on the classic Rubik’s Cube. The idea that the cube appears black at first glance but reveals its true colors when touched is truly intriguing.

This is a cool Rubik’s version and a fun take on the original. I think I would be working this out for a long time, it looks so hard!

I don’t think I ever solved my Rubiks cube if I’m being completely honest right now haha xD BUT the Rubiks phantom sounds like such a cool concept. That definitely keeps the interest going.

I am no good at rubix cubes in general so I reckon I would be awful at the phantom one. I can be quite impatient too so a bit of a disaster haha x

Rubik’s Cube is so timeless. I used to love playing with the one my grandparents had when I was a child. Mind you, I’ve never been able to solve it so don’t hold out much hope I’d manage this one either!

I’d love this and so would my granddaughter who puts me to shame by the speed with which she can solve my original Rubik’s cube!

I just absolutely love how a simple Rubik’s cube still entertains people of all ages in a day and age where technology takes over. I love the new twist!
