Shimmer ‘n Sparkle Instaglam Dolls | Review

[Ad- gifted product] Times have really changed when it comes to makeup! When I was a kid, my grandmother would never let us put on so much as lipstick when it came to wearing makeup. Everyone seemed to feel that it made children grow up faster or had a negative effect on them. Now-a-days, however, make up is seen as a way to play, express yourself, and look fancy. There are plenty of different children’s make up brands out there – with make up that won’t stain everything and is easy to take off – making the entire process so much easier.

Instaglam Dolls have released a new series of Neon Dolls, which come in six different dolls with different make up to explore. These dolls have a more neon theme to them – each with different make up to collect. They are really clever in design – with their body working as a sort of compact and pallet, complete with everything you’d need to put on make up. The set comes with two lip colors, a mini lip stick, two eye colors, (which can be removed and used outside of the dolls) and two make up wands – cleverly hidden in their hair pieces – as well as a mirror so that your child can see what they are putting on. This make up is completely child friendly – easy to remove from both skin and clothing – and can be put on by children themselves. It’s age range is for younger kids who want to play around with make up but like bright colors and aren’t quite old enough for adult make up yet.

The Instaglam Dolls are also super fun – you can wipe off their eyelids and lips to reveal a hidden sparkling color and can play around with them like normal dolls. Amelia and Robin took a look at Hayley and Evie – and they really had a good time with them. Both of these children have had play makeup often and love to play pretend while dolling up their faces to look beautiful. They were impressed with the bright and vibrant colors, really liking the sets, and loved playing around with the dolls themselves too. These dolls are easy to carry around and they were very happy with the color reveal, though Amelia commented that she wished the color reveal was instead color changing when you apply cold water – so that she could reveal again and again.

As an adult, I am very happy with the way this make up came off the children once they were done – not leaving any sort of stain or taking more than water to wash off, as often play make up can be quite challenging to get out of clothing, especially when the kids want to play dress up with it! These dolls are a bit top heavy, but the stand that comes with it can be re-used if your child has trouble standing up the doll on it’s own. Instaglam Dolls are a clever idea and one well worth looking into if your child is interested in make up themselves.
