Trying St Michel Choco Burger & Choco Waffle Snacks

[Ad- gifted product] We are always up for trying new snacks, especially during the school holiday as a sort of trial run to see what would go well in our kid’s packed lunches when school starts back up again! When we got a few boxes of St Michel Choco Burger and Waffle packs, Robin and Kai were really pumped to try them out. Both of them have had friends at school who have tried these treats, so they were ready to have a go at them themselves. Both of these treats are quite similar, being made of a soft cake-like shape and chocolate, but in different shapes. Sometimes, however, shapes are all that matters to children!

St Michel Choco Waffle

We first tried the St Michel Choco Waffle, which come in a box of six individual wrapped chocolate waffles. These waffles are sort of the texture of Twinkies from America. They are a vanilla cake, which is not very dry at all, that has three spaces in the rectangle, which are filled with chocolate ganache. This ganache is quite thick and glossy, giving a good amount of chocolate to waffle cake! The cakes were in our backpack as we went on a huge walk all around an animal reserve, in the heat, and none of them melted which was very impressive. Kai, Robin and I all found the St Michel Choco Waffle to be our favorite of the two treats, just because of the amount of chocolate to cake in this one. Amelia doesn’t enjoy chocolate very much but said it was “better than she expected” and that she would try it again!

St Michel Choco Burger

The St Michel Choco Burger we had as an afternoon snack while hanging out at home one day during the start of the summer break. This is a round sandwich like cake, with chocolate in-between. When opening these up, you could tell they were much more dry then the St Michel Choco Waffle, as they were crumbly at the sides. The amount of chocolate within the treat was less then the waffle as well, which is likely why we all enjoyed the waffle more than we enjoyed the burger. They did remind me of a whoopie pie, though I do feel if we got the chocolate coated versions of this treat, they would have gone down better (or if we tried them first, to be honest!). Amelia opted out of trying these as she knew it wouldn’t be to her taste.

St Michel Choco Burger and Waffle are likely to find their way in our kid’s lunch boxes when school starts back up, as they do feel like a perfect sized little treat that are very enjoyable – and the fact that they didn’t become a melted mess in the heat is really a plus.
