Stellar Restaurant Ephemera – A Space Food Experience

While in Paris for Go Fest Global, a Pokemon Go event, our friends Molly and Husky recommended a restaurant that they felt Dann and I would really love; Stellar Restaurant – Ephemera. Ephemera have a bunch of different, themed restaurant experiences, and Stellar is their space-themed place to eat. As we love experiences and we love trying new food, this felt like such a great recommendation and I am so glad we went along! You do need to book ahead, online, and when you show up you get to walk through a bunch of well-decorated areas to get to your seat. The walls themselves have space-themed atmospheres being projected, and there is a mystical, calm music playing. The ceiling is covered in planet decorations and mood lighting. It’s got some great vibes! But, let’s get into the food.

Stopover in Venice, Hanoi Bloom & Tokyo Fever

On the menu at Steller Restaurant, there are two drinks that come in special glasses, marked on the menu as being special. We obviously wanted to try these special drinks, so ordered both. One was a cocktail, called Stopover in Venice, which came in a sort of space-equipment shaped glass, with foam, and the staff poured the drink over the foam and over pop rocks. It was fruity, interesting, and out of this world. The mocktail in the special drink was called Hanoi Bloom – it was citrus, spicy, and delicious. I really enjoyed it, and there is more in the glass then it looks! Dann also ordered a regular drink, in a non-fancy glass, called Tokyo Fever, which was citrus and yuzu. All of these drinks were very fun!

Alloco Supersonic – Ivory Coast

You see, all of their food had a sort of place where they were inspired by. These different locations are from all around the world, so they fit within the space theme. I really love plantains, so I ordered some from the starter menu, but got it with my main. These were very well fired, nice and sweet, with a spicy tomato sauce. I wasn’t the biggest fan of this sauce with the plantains, though did dip some fries in it.

Flank Steak with Shallots – France & Traditional Ceviche – Peru

I ordered the Flank Steak with Shallots, that came with a choice of side dish (fries, sweet potato puree or a salad). I got the fries, which were crispy and came with a garlic mayo that tasted wonderful. The steak was cut into big sections, cooked well, and there was a lot of steak gravy-like liquid on the bottom of the plate that was delicious. It was a filling, good meal. Dann got the Traditional Ceviche, which was raw sea bream, marinated in a bunch of lime, coriander and chili pepper – it also had a choice of side dishes, and Dann went with the salad, which had a good amount of dressing and tons of chopped walnuts. Dann really enjoyed his ceviche, saying the fish tasted fresh and the citrus was punchy.

Celestial Panna-Cotta – Italy & Brioche Perdue – France

For dessert, I went with the Celestial Panna-Cotta, which was absolutely delicious! Tons of panna-cotta, lots of a punchy, red fruit coulis, and the texture from the compote and almond crumble was great. It wasn’t too heavy after such a big meal. Taking pictures of Dann’s Brioche Perdue was difficult due to the lighting, but it tasted fantastic. It was a homemade French toast, in brioche bread, topped with a custard and caramelized hazelnuts.

This sounds like such a fun and unique dining experience! The steak and fries combo already had me sold, but those space-themed drinks? I’d go just for that!

That sounds like a really cool place. I love the theme and the lighting. I’m very happy to hear that the food is actually good, too! A lot of themed places use the setting to mask the cheap food.
