Exploring the Musée Mécanique which has antique arcade machines

We’ve been to a few different arcades that feel part arcade and part museum, but we always go to the Musee Mecanique, which is a personal collection of more than 300 different items. They have coin operated pianos, pinball machines, slot machines, little peep shows, puppets, love tests and so much more. Many of them are very old machines, some of which you can only find at the venue.

Exploring the Pier 39 Tulipmania

When we visit San Francisco, we always take the time to walk along Pier 39. Last year, when we went, there was a horrific storm happening so the pier itself wasn’t full of lovely weather and the Tulipmania festival had taken a bit of a hit, not being so ideal for us to walk around. This year, however, we have had such better luck! Pier 39 is already an iconic, free, fun day out, but with Tulipmania going on, there is just more to explore and take pictures of!

Two Fish Tunnels at the Aquarium of the Bay

Going to aquariums is one of those things both Dann and I really enjoy! There is just something about exploring the creatures that live underwater and seeing what they look like close up. The Aquarium of the Bay is located on Pier 39, right at the end, and is one we have passed by a few times in previous years. This year, however, Dann booked up tickets excited to walk through the area. The aquarium is across several floors, creating a real experience of walking around.

Dinner at The Brickhouse Bar and Grill with my uncle!

While in San Francisco, we got stuck for a few extra days, which was a whole ordeal. But, due to this extra time, Dann and I actually got to meet up with my uncle Bekket and his partner, for a meal out. Bekket picked The Brickhouse Bar and Grill primarily because the food looked good and it was dog friendly, as they brought their little dog. The place itself was very small-town-bar-and-grill feeling, with smaller-sized booths, sports on TV, and lots of decorations.

American Classics at Pinecrest Diner

Going to the Pinecrest Diner while in San Francisco for work, is something that basically every person in the area, going to GDC, does. The diner is open 24 hours, making it perfect for the first day you wake up, jet lagged, wanting both breakfast and lunch items all at once. It reminds me of everything that I love about America. Customising meals, unlimited refills on drinks, and a very simplistic looking place that has everything you want in it. Dann and I went right after we woke up, around 7:30 am local time (2:30 pm in England), so we were both rather hungry.
