Two Fish Tunnels at the Aquarium of the Bay

Going to aquariums is one of those things both Dann and I really enjoy! There is just something about exploring the creatures that live underwater and seeing what they look like close up. The Aquarium of the Bay is located on Pier 39, right at the end, and is one we have passed by a few times in previous years. This year, however, Dann booked up tickets excited to walk through the area. The aquarium is across several floors, creating a real experience of walking around.

Dinner at The Brickhouse Bar and Grill with my uncle!

While in San Francisco, we got stuck for a few extra days, which was a whole ordeal. But, due to this extra time, Dann and I actually got to meet up with my uncle Bekket and his partner, for a meal out. Bekket picked The Brickhouse Bar and Grill primarily because the food looked good and it was dog friendly, as they brought their little dog. The place itself was very small-town-bar-and-grill feeling, with smaller-sized booths, sports on TV, and lots of decorations.

American Classics at Pinecrest Diner

Going to the Pinecrest Diner while in San Francisco for work, is something that basically every person in the area, going to GDC, does. The diner is open 24 hours, making it perfect for the first day you wake up, jet lagged, wanting both breakfast and lunch items all at once. It reminds me of everything that I love about America. Customising meals, unlimited refills on drinks, and a very simplistic looking place that has everything you want in it. Dann and I went right after we woke up, around 7:30 am local time (2:30 pm in England), so we were both rather hungry.

Cartoon Art Museum – Lots of Comics

Dann and I headed over to the Cartoon Art Museum, which is primarily focused on comics and the birth of comic books. It almost feels more like a small collection than a full museum, but they’ve got a mix of classic comics, comic notes, and featured artists who are local and new. Along with this collection, there are a few little fun facts and bits of history, so you could learn a lot there.

A Day Out at the San Francisco Botanical Garden

While visiting San Francisco, we decided to spend a few days exploring the sites and seeing whatever we could. One of the places that Dann was most excited for was the San Francisco Botanical Gardens, which is a huge gardens and green space with plants from all over the world! California has really good weather at this time of year, so walking around the gardens was a really fun time.
