Eating Pancakes at The Breakfast Club

Dann and I often go to Brighton for various activities, and while there, are trying to eat at a bunch of the wonderful food places they have around. The Breakfast Club reminds me of an American breakfast joint, feeling like the highlight of America and their diner-era. As an American, I do like the nostalgia that these types of diners have, and all of their food is always so filling and delicious.

Blueberry Pancakes & Bacon with Homestyle Potatoes

I went with a classic; blueberry pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. I did like that the maple syrup was nice and warm (it’s the little things!) and the pancakes came as three huge American-style pancakes with the blueberries pressed in them on the flattop grill. There was a light dusting of powdered sugar, which wasn’t too much, creating a very delicious pancake stack. At diners, I always get a side of Homestyle potatoes, which are well seasoned and fried chunks of potatoes. These ones have a bunch of add-ons at The Breakfast Club, so I went with chorizo and cheese. The nacho-style cheese over the top of the crispy potatoes, with the slightly spicy chorizo – it was amazing! I would get these potatoes for every single meal if I could.

Huevos Rancheros

Dann went for a classic for him; Huevos Rancheros which had two perfectly cooked eggs, tons of beans, sour cream, guac, salsa, and he added a fried chicken breast to it too. This was an extremely filling meal which was fantastic as we had a long day ahead of us. He really enjoyed it himself. We also grabbed drinks with me getting a tart pink lemonade and him going with a coffee. All of the food came quite quickly, despite the place being very busy.

The Breakfast Club has indoor and outdoor seating, though it is always quite busy! The staff are kind and will explain any of the menu items to you, if needed. There is a lunch menu full of classics like club sandwiches and sweet waffles, if you aren’t coming there for breakfast, but I do think breakfast time is when they shine.

I don’t normally eat breakfast out. The Huevos Rancheros sounds great. I’ve never had that before, I’d love to try them.
