While in San Francisco, we got stuck for a few extra days, which was a whole ordeal. But, due to this extra time, Dann and I actually got to meet up with my uncle Bekket and his partner, for a meal out. Bekket picked The Brickhouse Bar and Grill primarily because the food looked good and it was dog friendly, as they brought their little dog. The place itself was very small-town-bar-and-grill feeling, with smaller-sized booths, sports on TV, and lots of decorations.
Fried Pickles and Brussel Sprouts

Bekket ordered fried pickles and brussel sprouts for the table, which was a fantastic start. The pickles themselves were more crunch then pickles – I almost wished they had some juice in the batter or something, but otherwise were very crispy and fun. They came with a side of ranch dressing, very American, that went very well with it all. The crispy brussel sprouts had a bunch of bacon and were very well seasoned. We squeezed the lemon over it, which brightened the whole thing up.
Mexican Burger and Teriyaki Chicken Wings

Myself, Bekket and his partner all got burgers as our mains at The Brickhouse Bar and Grill. I picked the Mexican burger which had spicy cheese, jalapenos, tomatoes, onions – just a lot of good stuff. The burger itself was very big and came on a sort of marble tile? It came with some pickled vegetables, which were well pickled, and some potato chips. I do regret not upgrading to param truffle fries! Dann wasn’t feeling super hungry, so got teriyaki chicken wings, which were cripsy but could have used a bit more flavor for us. The wings were well cooked and he did enjoy them.

For a drink, I got a Merry Mule, which had blood orange, vodka, cranberry and the like. Dann went with a beer. This drink was quite pretty! We had a good time having dinner, though the booths could have used a bit more room, especially with the large “plates” that our food came on. The staff were friendly and it was fantastic to get to catch up with some of my family.
Brickhouse is exactly the kind of place our family loves to go for dinner. I love the comfort food and the laid-back vibe.
Sounds great. I love Brussels spouts but have never tried them that way before, those sound great as do the pickles.
