Dann and I were looking to get a good, filling brunch within our town, so ended up at The Master Barista. We walk by this place often, seeing people eating outside. It’s attached to a jeweler shop, owned by the same people, which plays on the same designs as them. They have tons of seating in side and out, with an upstairs and downstairs, right by the bar counter. There are real Instagram vibes; interesting murals, flowers hanging from the ceiling, and neon lights! But, let’s get into the food.
Owl Breakfast
Dann chose the Owl Breakfast, which I feel like he picked primarily for the name. We aren’t really sure what it had to do with owls, as they don’t eat salmon, and that was the interesting bit of the plate. It was a sort of big, deconstructed avocado toast. There was asparagus, salmon, avocado, half a lime, a poached egg, some tomatoes and a mushroom. The tomatoes and mushrooms were well cooked, however, they were barely room temperature, which was a theme with the food. A lot of it was just barely warm, though it didn’t take long to come out at all.
The Mediterranean Breakfast

I ordered the The Mediterranean Breakfast at The Master Barista, which was an interesting one! It had some very delicious olives, cucumber slices, smashed avocado, a fried egg, a bunch of feta, some Turkish sausages, halloumi slices, a cooked mushroom, roasted tomatoes, bread, and some interesting toppings and rolls. The deep fried rolls were filled with feta and egg, making a sort of crispy scramble. I almost wish I had chili oil for them. The – I am assuming – bread toppings were interesting. I had one with the avocado like avocado toast, but maybe that was meant to dip the rolls into, thinking about it now. I also had jam, honey and clotted cream. I put the jam and clotted cream on a slice of toast, though I felt these didn’t quite fit, and I wasn’t sure what to do with the honey.
Chai Lattes
Dann and I both got the same drink at The Master Barista, which was a chai latte with oat milk. It was sweet enough, warm enough, and very good. Perfect for a full plate of breakfast! We had a good time eating brunch and the staff were very nice as well. The Master Barista does other items like sandwiches, classics like sausage and mash, and a small selection of pastas as well.
It looks like a very interesting selection of food, maybe some of it didn’t quite belong together. I love the decor in there.
I was talking to one of my kids about brunches the other day. Definitely something I am going to look at with my daughter
It sounds like a charming spot, and those breakfast dishes certainly sound interesting. Love your food photos and honest takes when you do your reviews.
I do like a chai latte. Sounds like some interesting breakfasts and nice to have been able to try somewhere new x
The food looks so yummy. But the place itself…WOW. Mesmerizing
That looks like a great lunch spot! I really love the vibe, and the food sounds wonderful.
