[Ad- gifted product]Â At the start of the year, people are always trying to start new habits and take better care of themselves. The start of a new year can inspire people to want to better themselves, as it’s like a little reset or milestone they’ve passed. One thing that easily can better your health is making sure you are taking care of your bones, joints, and skin through supplements like collagen. There are a few different brands of collagen around, though Dann and I have tried Elavate, which have a few different options to tailor to your tastes. I like the fact that they have unflavoured – which makes it easy to add a dose into your food without tasting anything. They also have chocolate and vanilla, which are two good flavours for baked goods as they do have a flavour to them. This brand of collagen is very fine, so we haven’t found any grainy tastes or feeling with the food we have added it to.
I do find sticking to a new habit to be a challenge, as does anyone I think. Elavate send a welcome box, which has a storage container for your supplement, an electric whisk, the collagen of course, and even a calendar that allows you to check off each day that you take your supplement, encouraging you to build up that habit. This is magnetic, which means it can be placed on your fridge, right where you see it! Obviously, it’s pretty easy to add Elavate Collagen to your coffee and tea, and their website have a few baked goods, but here’s what I have been adding it to!
Overnight Oats

I am not a huge breakfast person, but overnight oats feel like such a fantastic snack. It’s filling, it’s easy to bulk make in the fridge, and you can add in a spoonful of elavate collagen to increase the benefits from eating something that’s already pretty healthy. There are a few overnight oat kits on the market, though I tend to mix together some chia seeds, oats, oat milk, and my favorite yoghurt, which is cherry. Sometimes, if I am feeling fun, I might throw in some seeds and top it with fresh fruit before serving. Elavate collagen easily is stirred into this snack, and with all the textures going on, you can’t even really tell.
Soups
Now, this might not be a very common way to take your supplements, but I find that adding a spoonful into soup is such an easy way to eat more collagen. In my mind, people take supplements in the morning, but as I am not a big morning breakfast person, it’s just not something I think about. With that in mind, we do meal prep our lunches, often using soup cube trays at the moment as we are really into soups as a household. When I warm up the soup I want for the day, I add a spoonful of our Elavate collagen and let it dissolve. With the unflavoured ones, you cannot even tell it’s in there. I’ve had mine in both loaded potato soup and in broccoli cheddar soup.
Smoothies
Smoothies or drinks in general is another quick and easy way to get your supplements in. Smoothies are quick, on the go, and often can feel extremely healthy which is the mindset a lot of people trying supplements go into. It’s as easy as grabbing a freezer kit of fruit and vegetables and blending them up with some liquid. Yoghurt, fresh fruit, juice, vegetables… so many different things can go in your smoothies making them perfect for your taste. You can make your smoothies into smoothie bowls, or if you aren’t feeling the want for healthy, you can even go with a milkshake. What’s important is having some way to consume your collagen so that you are regularly taking it.
Over the month that we have been regularly taking Elavate, I have noticed a difference in my hair and joints, which really is fantastic. Kai also takes collagen for his hair and swears by it.
