Trying out Toast’ems Pop-Ups

[Ad- gifted product] I have always heard about those toaster pastries, but it turns out, they aren’t the originals! Toast’ems Pop-ups, previously called Post Country Squares, were made in 1963, before Kellogg’s version of the pastry came out later that year. It’s interesting to see what brands become household names!

Toast’ems Pop-ups has a bunch of flavors in the UK; Brown Sugar Cinnamon, Blueberry, Cherry, Chocolate Fudge, Cookies and Creme, S’mores, Strawberry and Wild Berry. They are made in the United States, as a product, which I am seeing more and more of within the UK. Each box comes with six Toast’ems Pop-ups, in two packs.

On the box, it says you can toast them up in the toaster or in your microwave, taking just a few moments. They make for great breakfast treats or snacks throughout the day. We do not have a toaster or a microwave, just as we don’t really use them, so I heated them in the oven using the grill setting, leaving them frosting side up, so they got warm and toasty. We tried Toast’ems Pop-ups Strawberry, which feels like a real classic flavor. This strawberry had a good amount of jam in the middle, which is thick and perfectly soft when melted. There were lots of little sprinkles, but not the hard kind, and plenty of frosting. Robin found these to be her favorite and quite enjoyed them!

By Amelia’s request, we also tried the Cookies and Creme Toast’ems Pop-ups, which remind me of a giant, warm Oreo. The outside is like the Oreo cookie and the inside has creme. This creme was nice and warm, with a good amount of sweetness, and as per the previous Toast’ems Pop-ups, there was plenty of frosting and sprinkled cookies on the outside too. Amelia said it was fun having a warm cookie! I found these to be a little drier, for me, and would probably dip them in a giant bowl of milk. Toast’em Pop-ups are launching in the TikTok Shop, just in time for summer!

There are so many companies doing these now. I do love the range of flavour options that are available. My kids would really love the frosted strawberry ones. they have them for breakfast sometimes.
