[Ad- gifted products] We tend to try Higgidy’s new products all year round, as we have found they are ideal for picnics, picky lunches, and snacks for our whole family! Whenever they come out with new products to try, all of us are excited and willing to taste. I have found that all three of our children are also more willing to eat vegetables when they are in Higgidy products; veggie sausage roll looking things or muffins are a great way to get kids to eat things that they may not normally try themselves. We got the chance to try a bunch of new vegan products, which were very exciting.
I popped all of these products into our air fryer to heat it up! You can eat any of the Higgidy products cold, right out of the package or heat them up in your oven, air fryer, etc. I have found the majority of the products to be great both cold and warm, which brings a lot of versatility to their products.
Roasted Chickpea Marsala Pie and Petit Pois & Courgette Vegan Quiche
Two of the bigger items in this new range are the quiche and pie! The Roasted Chickpea Marsala Pie has several layers of flavour. The chickpeas are in a red curry, and under is a sort of chimichurri styled sauce that really brightens up the dish! There are a lot of texture and flavour to this pie, and it feels very warming to eat. The Petit Pois & Courgette Vegan Quiche is a smaller pie, that has a lot of flavour too. It’s very sweat pea forward, which is far better than the garden pea pies we have had previously due tot he sweetness. It tastes a lot of the vegetables in it, and feels very fresh when you eat it!
Bang Bang Cauliflower Dinky Vegan Rolls
These little vegan rolls are delicious. We all really love Higgidy’s rolls, and these ones are the perfect bite. The bang bang taste in it isn’t too spicy, all three of our children really enjoyed them, and you cannot even tell these are cauliflower. They were the favourite in our family, and we ate two packs in one sitting. I really enjoyed the hint of space and the textures that were in this roll.
Spinach & Red Pepper Mini Vegan Muffins
These muffins were really interesting – I do not think we have had muffins before from Higgidy. I might have overcooked a few of them, but ended up doing the second batch much better. These muffins are in fact muffin texture, with veggies clearly seen throughout them. They are very savoury and feel like they might need a dip; maybe a creamy one? They weren’t our favourites of the lot, but they were very quick to eat and would work as a good snack for traveling as well, especially if you are a fan of red peppers!
We purchase Higgidy products from our local Tesco, but you can find them in a number of shops.
Wow! These sound really good actually!
They look good for sure. I have never tried any veganuary snacks before, but I wouldn’t mind trying them out
There are so many good snacks this time of year! And a great way to try veggies in a new way.
These snacks actually look really good. Forgot it was Veganuary, so this is a great reminder to eat less meat and more veg.
I wouldn’t mind trying that quiche. Chickpeas are so very versatile.
I have not tried this yet, but it sure looks delicious. Time to hit the grocery store and give this veganuary snack a try.
