Vivacats Cinema Box | Review

Vivacats

We’ve been pampering our little cat, Pancake, a bit more if you hadn’t noticed! He really loves all of the attention. In our hunt for new treats, new foods and interesting products, we purchased the Vivacats box, with the theme of Cinema! We do go to the cinema a lot, back when it was open, and thought it would be super funny to have a cinema-styled toy for our little furry baby. Let’s go through all of the items within the box.

Viva Cats Clapperboard

This catnip filled toy, I believe, is the reason why Pancake went mad for the box! He really seems to love the smell of catnip. I found this to be the coolest item in the box, from the angle that this cat toy is personalised to this month’s box. It has the name of the brand, Vivacats, as well as the movie name of Crazy Cat Love – it’s just so cute. Having a toy that you can’t find anywhere is a big plus, as it feels super unique and worth it, if you like the theme. I should mention that the theme for each month is put out, as well as everything within the box, on their website – and then you can order that box. This means that if you are looking for a one-off box, you can know the theme and generally what you’ll get first.

Hello Cat Chicken & Sticks

Vivacats

Cats love treats, and Pancake is no different, which is great because the Vivacats box is full of treats. Though he prefers fish flavored goodies, these chicken sticks were a favorite of the lot. They feel like a slightly hard jerky, The treat is meant to be easy to digest and full of protein, but low in fat. There was a bit of a strangeness to the bag for these Hello Cat treats – the description kept talking about my dog, not my cat, stating to have water at all times for my dog and to monitor my dog while they try the treat. I went to the website listed on the package to see more information about the brand, but the website was currently down. Much like the following treats, these all seem to be imported from the Netherlands.

Antos Ambre Beef

Vivacats

This packaging looks so 90s to me, which was pretty funny to see within the box. The Anots Ambre Beef treats smell so strongly of beef. They have the texture of dry food and seemed a lot like Pancake’s normal dry mix that we use. For that reason, I don’t think he really moved the treat – he doesn’t come running for it or anything, but he still is enjoying eating them! This beef treat is meant to also have fish and cheese flavors, as well as be high in protein, antioxidants and vitamins.

Antos Gizmo Dental

Vivacats

The Antos Gizmo Dental treats are more of a healthy treat for your cat! They smell fishy and have the texture of dry food, but Pancake goes mad for fish flavors so he’s been really enjoying these. They are also full of antioxidant and vitamins which are meant to help dental and immune well being. They are high in protein content as well. As they are the same brand as the previous beef treat, they also featured an interesting 90s look.

Kit Cat Wet Tuna Food with Shrimps

We got two cans of this wet food, which Pancake really enjoyed! It’s a very wet, very fish-looking food that doesn’t look overly processed or like meal. There are no cereals, dyes or preservatives, which is always a plus, and the food is packed with natural probiotics, omega 3 and omega 6. Pancake tends to lick all of the moisture out of wet food before eating the bits within it, which he really enjoyed doing. The smell was fishy and much like the food within it. It’s a good wet food and seems to be the only product from within the UK.

Extras & thoughts

I also got a coupon for Edward Cooper and a booklet that told me about what was in my box. I was surprised as this booklet also told me what was in boxes for the Netherlands, Spain and various other countries. It seems like the UK gets 5 items, while other countries get up to 7. This seems a bit weird and at first, I honestly thought I was missing a cat brush and some Edward Cooper treats. I spent some time trying to find the prices of all the items within the box, which was actually quite a challenge as the treats aren’t sold in the UK. After checking a lot of places and converting the prices, I found that for me, the box isn’t completely worth the £13.90 a month they would cost. If you don’t mind paying a bit extra to get some treats imported from other countries and your cat is curious to trying out new items, it might just be worth it for you though and can be looked at as a curation fee for finding these different products.

Vivacats

I did find it weird that some of the cat treats refereed to dogs, the coupon refereed to dogs/dog food and that instead of Vivacats paper within my box, I had Vivadog paper. I am not sure if I just got a strange box or if this just happens sometimes, but it did seem odd to me as I had ordered a cat box full of cat things. Looking at the picture on the website, they do have images of the Edward Cooper food/treats and a different brand as well, but they do not list these items in the UK box, so it is worth taking a look at exactly what’s in the box, instead of just glancing at the image on the Vivacats website.

There are a lot of cat subscription boxes that are for humans and cats, but this is the first one that’s only cat focused!

I don’t have a cat but this is such a lovely/cute idea! I have friends that have cats so they would probably enjoy this 😊 xx

Looks like Pancake got some great treats! I know my two would go crazy over all of that, especially the wet tuna food with shrimps. Thanks for sharing!

I really would love to get something like this for my cat. I don’t want a subscription box so much as just something I can buy and have shipped from time to time to pamper my 9-year-old Maine Coon mix, Max. He loves toys and wet food. The stuff you got in the box looks great! I hope Pancake enjoyed it!

It’s honestly been a chore to cancel this one! Other boxes have been easier to cancel, but this one requires you to email them – and they haven’t replied for a little over a week now, and I was charged for another in that time.
      🙁
