[Ad- gifted product] We have been very known to light candles, melt wax melts and use essential oils! When it comes to scents, you can use them in so many ways – from letting your mind and body wind down to giving yourself a little treat and feeling fancy or to cover up unpleasant odors like pets. When I think of potpourri, however, I think of those tacky bowls of wooden bits and bobs, sitting in my childhood home’s bathroom.
As it turns out, there are other forms of potpourri, including Volcanic Potpourri! These jars are absolutely beautiful, not looking too feminine either, which can make a talking point out of every room. Inside the matt black glass jar, you can find lava and obsidian stones which were naturally made. The lid of the jar isn’t black and instead is red Agate stone, each lid looking a bit different in design as they are finished from natural rocks. Crystal healers use lava rocks create calmness and strength around them, where as Obsidian is used to be protective, shielding yourself from negativity. Agate is used to help mental function and improve concentration – so if you are a believer in crystal healing, there are a lot of benefits here.
These potpourris are a much better option then the wooden ones you might remember from your childhood. They are long lasting and reusable, so you won’t need to dumb them out or throw them away when they get old. Instead, you just need to purchase new oil to use in them from time to time. They don’t use any electricity, don’t need a plug, and there are no flames that are lit to make them work.
The Volcanic Potpourri comes in two varieties – unscented and scented. The difference is essential oils. Unscented comes without any where as scented comes with some. I choose scented with the scent of “Unwind” (lavendar and bergamot) but there are also scents like Winter, Sunshine, Bloom, Glow and Revive, with scent notes to help you pick the scent you’d like. If you already have your favorite essential oils, you could go with an unscented one! To use this potpourri, all you need to do is add six to ten drops of the oil directly onto the stones. Lava stones act like a sponge, soaking up the oil and then slowly releasing the scent throughout the next few days. Each one comes with a small paper bag of bonus rocks, to really fill up the jar.
We have been using our Volcanic Potpourri for a few weeks now and have really enjoyed it. At first, the scent is really strong and then it dissipates as the stones absorb it, still smelling nicely for some time afterwards. It’s a great decorative piece, and nothing gets hot or needs cleaning like with wax melt burners, which is a great plus!
