[Ad- gifted product] Amelia comes home from school often looking for something to quickly make. I think it’s that itch of baking – so we checked the cabinet and took a look for a bread to make for Kai’s avocado toast for breakfast. Amelia isn’t a big bread fan, but Wright’s Baking has sent us a load of different bread mixes to try out. She read off all the labels on them and settled on the Cheddar Cheese & Onion Bread Mix, which sounded the “best for Avocado Toast”.

If you are unfamiliar with Wright’s Baking Mixes, they are incredibly easy to use, often only requiring water to create something delicious. We really like the mix as it makes things feel homemade, but Amelia can make them on her own easily and quickly. This Cheddar Cheese and Onion Bread Mix only needed water, then a bunch of kneading and waiting. Amelia measured out the water and added it to a bowl with the mix, before mixing it around. You could instantly see bits of cheese and onion in the bread and it smelled fantastic. Clearly it was going to be very flavorful.

After mixing the dough, she then kneaded it for around five minutes and let it sit on the counter. This dough didn’t raise very much and we could see the yeast in it was still a little on the dry side. Either way, we persisted and baked the bread according to the package instructions. The Wright’s Baking Cheddar Cheese and Onion Bread came out smelling delicious and tasted really good too! We had a few warm slices with a bit of butter before we wrapped it up for avocado toast in the morning.

The crumb itself wasn’t as airy as making it from scratch, but with the amount of time and effort it took to make this flavorful bread, it really paid off! We toasted the bread with a bit of butter on each side, in a pan, before topping with avocado, the yolk of a fried egg, bagel seasoning and hot sauce. Kai enjoyed it and Amelia was very happy he liked the bread she had made and picked out for him.
That sounds amazing! I have a pulled pork recipe that would make the perfect sandwich between two slices of this!
I can’t wait to try it out…I love baking a lot and yes as you said, it requires time for the starch to develop.
I live for homemade bread! It’s harder to make, but so worth it for the sake of health and wellness. Will be sure to make this!
That Cheddar Cheese & Onion Bread Mix sounds like a great choice for avocado toast! Love how Amelia took the lead in picking and making it!!
This bread looks yummy! I’d use the cheese and onion bread to make a turkey, cheese and avocado sandwich.
Making bread seems intimidating to me. It is nice to know that there are mixes like this that make it easier. I like what you did with it, making the avocado toast.
The Cheddar Cheese & Onion Bread Mix sounds like a great way to start baking bread as not everyone can make bread from scratch as it is tricky. This looks easy enough to make
I could just eat some of this with some real
Butter . Bet it smells absolutely divine in your house
