2020 Goals

We are getting closer and closer to the end of 2019. It’s been a rough year, loads of changes, but I have survived and that’s all that matters. 2020 is, so far, matching up to be an equally challenging year starting off basically the same way, but I think it’s one we can all last through, even with everything going on. There is a lot more personal stuff to come that I know will knock the wind out of me, but focusing on the positive, I wanted to join in with these goal posts! Thinking about goals is a bit challenging, because I tend to just do the things I want to do, instead of making big goals for the entire year. I guess these goals would be more for the start of 2020 to mid 2020, because who knows what the end of the year will even look like.

Without further more conversation, I will now share my goals for 2020, a year with a very cool name:

Move house: Because of the ongoing issues of 2019, we are looking to move house again. I am not too bothered by this, as it would be good to get out of this strange town and move somewhere new and fresh. At first, I was pretty sad about moving, but after looking at homes in our price range, I am quite excited. There are a lot of lovely houses with far bigger kitchens and hopefully a dedicated office space that we can totally afford. This is really great, as having an office space not in my bedroom would be so lovely.

Get a new car: Dann got a new car this year, but it’s not a car I love or can drive. It’s a stick, which I don’t like driving, and the radio doesn’t currently work. As much as I like listening to my mix tapes from 2014, I would like to get a new car that I can also drive, as it would probably help a lot more, especially after we’ve moved a bit farther away. This goal, and the above, really has to do with saving and finding the time to get both, which I feel can totally be done, in time.

Record more: When it comes to my hobby, I use to record loads of indie games on Youtube. Towards the middle and end of the year, this really slipped and I couldn’t find the time or motivation to do either, but I feel that 2020 will be a better year for this (I mean, can you imagine if I have an office???) so I am hoping that more games will get recorded and I can get back on track.

Get another Tattoo: I wanted to get another tattoo this year, but time got ahead of me. I have a small tattoo on my foot that I got when I was 18 years old, but I would love to get another one on my arm, of a galaxy or three tacos, I am not quite sure which. This year I am hoping to get at least one new tattoo for my skin.

Volunteer: I use to volunteer a lot when I lived in America. When I first came to England, I use to clean out the ponds in my local park. I haven’t done much volunteering since moving to London and want to do more of it. It’s always good to donate your time to helping others.

This year, there have been a lot of lows, but also quite a few highlights! I got Pancake, our lovely British Shorthaired cat who we all love so very much. I got my septum pierced, which I wrote about and really enjoy seeing in my face each day. I have helped furnished an entire house – something that feels very adult and new. I have gone to so many moves, unlike previous years, which has been pretty fun and a great way to hang out with more friends. I’ve also just survived 2019, which is great, and have come out with someone I really enjoy being around who has stood by all of 2019 and taken the year with me. It’s been a long road, and I am sure 2020 won’t get easier, but there are so many things to look forward too.

This blog has been a fun time too. I have pretty consistently been posting three days a week, every week, for a while. I’ve got a lot of cool and fun opportunities and had a lovely time sharing those with you all. Our family has really benefited from my writing, and I really enjoy being able to write about something that’s not video games for a bit. In 2020, I plan on exploring and doing a series on a bunch of cookbooks, sharing a recipe from a different cookbook each week after cooking it, which should be super fun!

Onward to 2020, a new year that’s probably going to be pretty similar to this year.

It sounds like lots of big things are potentially happening this year! Good luck with your 2020 goals. You should definitely try to find more time to record if it’s something you really enjoy x

I hope you manage to complete all your goals! I also have the goal of a new car after almost 9 years with my current one. Good luck with the new house, the new car and all the other crazy stuff you’ll have going on.

Remember to look after yourself too, though.
