Harlow Chinese School – Spring and Summer Rolls

The Harlow Chinese School does a cooking club every few months as a fundraiser for the school itself. It’s always a very community feeling thing, where Sun Yung teaches us all about a bit of food from Chinese culture, and we enjoy eating it and making it. This class is always very family friendly and enjoyable, without having to do too much cooking, and with a big focus on community and eating! This time, the course was very quick in time, as the summer rolls were the only thing that really needed cooking. They actually brought out some pre-made spring rolls to snack on, while we waited for ours to cook.

Honestly, it felt like a great community activity and a lovely way to start off the New Year without any sort of pressure.

Harlow Chinese School Cooking Course – Wonton Soup with Noodles

We have actually previously done a wonton course at the Harlow Chinese School, previously creating both fried and soup wontons. Even though we had previously attended, we were both excited to come back! The meat in the middle of these wontons were different and so was the broth, so it sounded like a good time to us. The Harlow Chinese School is running their cooking club every other month this year and we are aiming to attend all of them!

Harlow Chinese School Cooking Course – Dumplings

The Harlow Chinese School Cooking Class have started back up for the year, with the first one being Dumplings! The first class of the school year was packed, with everyone creating either boiled or fried dumplings with a meat or vegetarian filling. Dann and I went with the meat filling, which had meat in it, along with a specific flavoring packet that is sort of like a seasoned soy sauce, but less liquid.
