A Day Out at Jump In Ipswich

Jump In Ipswitch

*AD – this experience was gifted to our household for this post. All opinions, as always, are our own.

Our family, as you may know, really loves days out! With summer holidays here and in full swing, we’ve been looking at new places to take the children, that they’d enjoy and get out some of their energy at. In the last year, the children have had a big interested in trampolines – so much so that we purchased a trampoline for our backyard, so that they can go out and jump after school or during the day, making use of our generously sized yard space. With this in mind, everyone was pretty hyped to check out Jump In Ipswich, which was previously Bounce, but now has had a bit of a clean up!

Trampolines and Arcade

We had not ever been to a trampoline park before, however, we were excited! Upon arrival, the kids got their Jump In Ipswich socks and we adults were ready to grab a table and set up our computers. That’s the thing about these sorts of areas – they have free WiFi and the ability to work from the park. Besides this, there are a lot of trampoline benefits. Jumping on a trampoline burns a lot of calories, helps improve coordination and balance, and strengthens muscles and bones. Additionally, trampolining can be a great way to de-stress and boost your mood. Jump In Ipswich had a lovely cafe area with plenty of tables to sit at, however, there weren’t many outlets so if your laptop needs a lot of charges, you might be out of luck. We both were good and set up for the afternoon.

The place itself has a small arcade area and a bunch of different trampoline areas. There is a main area which is a bunch of square trampolines that you can jump from, as well as some wall trampolines and a few tilted ones for big jumps! The next biggest area is a dodge-ball pit, which has a net around the outside, but the same square trampolines and a bunch of balls to play dodge ball. It’s not a structured dodge ball – but it’s fun to throw the balls around and bounce! Robin had never played dodge ball before, entered the area, went directly behind her brother Kai on their team’s side of the arena, then continued to throw balls at Kai over and over. It was pretty funny.

There are also specialty areas of Jump In Ipswich, including a basketball area – as it turns out Amelia really loves basketball – where you can jump on a trampoline, attempting to slam dunk or throw the ball into the net. There are a few different heights to test out, which provides options for those that can jump a bit more than others! Another area had a path that two people could come on, from either side, and joust with a foam jousting thing! Then, if you fall off, you fall into a sort of foam pit that’s quite bouncy and fun. Kai really enjoyed this area and took on several children, defeating them.

Robin’s favorite area of Jump In Ipswich was the trick trampoline area, where people wait in line to take a turn jumping off a single trampoline into a foam pit area that’s similar to the jousting area. Robin loved getting “stuck” inside this foam pit area and bouncing her way out, taking large steps! There was also another area with individual trampolines where people could jump up and hit buttons, trying to hit as many within a time period or trying to hit them in a specific order, which Amelia tried out a few times, though two out of the three boards were a bit too high for her.

Outside of the main trampoline area, there was one of those bouncy areas where your child can stand on a platform, trying to duck or jump over a moving middle pillar, which both Kai and Amelia had previously done at the fair – and they were well into doing it again! This was in the arcade bit, so they were also curious about the arcade machines, but none of them really peaked our interest.

It is worth noting that adults can also jump with children – getting adult socks to jump with! We got to keep our socks, which are slightly gripping at the bottom and include the logo, for when we next go! And I do feel like next time, Dann might be joining the kids in their jumping around.

Food and Drinks

When it comes to the food at Jump In Ipswich, there is a pretty classic menu of children-friendly meals, from popcorn chicken and chips to pizzas. We ended up having lunch there, ordering a lot of pizza, hot dogs, cheesy chips, popcorn chicken, and of course slushies for everyone. When it comes to more adult menu items, there are tons of coffee options, as well as iced coffees and fraps. There isn’t specifically upscale food for adults, but the pizza had stuffed crust – which had a tomato sauce in it – which was pretty fun to be honest. The kids all really enjoyed eating their food and were instantly back on the trampolines quickly, which just goes to show the main focus of the area.

Soft Play

One thing that I did not realize while at Jump In Ipswich is that the trampoline area of the place is actually about half of the whole venue. If you go into another entrance from the lobby, you will find yourself in a giant soft play area, complete with little houses for roleplay. This area looks absolutely huge and lovely, with climbing areas, slides, and more all in one indoor place. Robin, we are sure, would have loved the little houses – and after seeing this area, it’s clear we need to go back and book tickets for this side of the venue! This side has the same amount of seating and the same cafe, so it’s pretty identical when it comes to having adults watch and wait.

You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!

I am so loving this and seriously want to go to a place like this with my own family. I may have to look for one near where I live and if I ever get over to Ipswich I will for sure visit this action packed trampoline park.
