A Day Out at Weald Park Country Show

Weald Park Country Show

[Ad- gifted experience] Earlier in the year, we were all invited to the Weald Park Country Show, which is a sort of town fair that had tons of different amusements, food stands, shops selling little goods, animals and more. We ended up only being able to go on the last day, but are sure to attend next year as well! The Weald Park Country Show really has a lot going on, so we spend the whole day there!

One of the main things we decided to check out was the amusements. All three children were really excited when they saw the rides. There were giant bubble-like balls that the children could go inside of, allowing them to run like hamsters around a track. As Robin had recently got a hamster, she was well excited to “become like the hamster” and play around in these balls! We ended up going in quite a few times. Another fun ride, that Kai really enjoyed, was an obstacle course-type thing where he needed to jump over a moving bar and duck under another, falling over almost every time the bar came around. He really enjoyed it though! The kids also went on a giant trampoline, jumping high into the air.

Rides weren’t the only thing to keep their attention though. The Weald Park Country Show had a bunch of different shows – from an entire sign language chorus to a magic show, to puppet shows. There was a lot to see. At one point, Robin was completely captivated by a Pirate show that had two pirates, teaching children who to defend and attack with swords and singing pirate songs. I was very impressed by the acrobatic show that went on as well. All of these different shows were staggered in the times that they started, so you could walk around the fair and make it to each one. Along with the shows, there were plenty of interactive stands looking to grab our attending! One stand had a bunch of K’Nex models, that light up and move, showcasing fair rides and interesting buildings – which Kai really enjoyed. There were quite a few stands that had birds of prey, allowing people to hold them on their arms! We took a look at all of the birds, and the children kept picking favorite owls.

Along with these stands, there were plenty of places to grab home-made crafts, spirits, knife sets, pet treats, toys – basically anything you could think of. We ended up getting toys for each of the children, as well as a massive knife set for home, and some small trinkets from other stands. When it came to food, there was also plenty to choose from. We had donuts and cakes, spicy chicken wings, burgers, loaded fries, slushies and more, enjoying sampling everything.

The Weald Park Country Show had a car show, allowing people to see a bunch of really cool cars, as well as a dog show, full of beautiful dogs, and a horse show (that we actually got the chance to see some of). A motorcycle stunt show and wrestling also was taking place around the area, so there really is something for everyone. We all very much enjoyed the fair, and hope to attend more of these as it’s fun to purchase little local items and explore so many different entertaining shows!

You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!

Aw! That looks like such a fun time. My kids would totally love that – especially seeing the animals. That’s always a highlight anywhere we go!
