Previously, we have attended JumpStreet in Chelmsford, to go on the rock walls. The location is sort of divided into three sections; rock walls, soft play, and a trampoline park. Now that JumpStreet has been rebranded to AirHop, we felt it was fitting to check out more of the new features, which are all in the trampoline section of the place. This area has a lot to do; trampolines, arcade-style games involving jumping, dodge ball, massive slides, knock-off-platform areas, and a soccer arena type place with targets!
Robin use to be a bit funny with trampoline parks, mainly as she was so much smaller than her siblings. We hadn’t gone for a while, as they were able to go in different areas to her, and she found herself alone. Now that she’s grown, there was only two areas she couldn’t go into; the new AirHop slide and the fighting area. Both of these are quite quick to use, so it didn’t effect her too much. We entered, got our special socks (of which they had a ton of different colors) and then went straight to bouncing! It’s worth noting that AirHop Chelmsford does have free-to-use lockers, which can be handy for your shoes.
The main area is full of little trampolines, all connected together. They seem like personal trampolines, though there are some wall ones, that allow you to bounce off of them, which Dann really enjoyed doing with Amelia! On one side, there are also a bunch of whack-a-mole style games, where you need to jump on the trampoline to push buttons that light up! It’s quite a fun one. A giant platform that you can jump on was also popular with children and ours alike.
This main area is where everyone let out most of their energy. There was a lot of bouncing here! Our second most favorite area as a family was probably the foam pit. There is a large pit full of cubes, and you can bounce off of a trampoline or do a run and jump into the foam pit! Even Kai started doing back flips and front flips into the pit. Dann had a few go’s as well. Next to this bigger pit, there was also a balance beam and a tight rope area, that felt like a less extreme version. AirHop Chelmsford also had another video game section, where there was a large trampoline with a TV screen that can pick up where you are jumping. On the screen, bubbles appear, and you can jump to pop them and end up on a high score board! This was another popular location, but each of the rounds in the game were the perfect length, with Robin, Amelia and Kai really enjoying placing higher on the leaderboard!
Another really fun feature, which is very new, is the AirHop slide. Though Robin wasn’t tall enough, Kai and I had a fantastic time going down these slides. One is a big more of a vertical drop than the other, but both of them do give you a lot of air time, which feels just like flying. It’s absolutely fantastic. You do grab a mat to ride down the slide – it’s just such a fun time. We didn’t end up using the soccer, dodge ball or basketball areas, but they seemed really fun too!
AirHop Chelmsford is such a fantastic place, especially if you have energetic children that you want to sleep well at night! It’s rare to find a place that Robin (who is 7) and Kai (who is 13) both enjoy equally, but AirHop ticked all of the boxes and we had a great time.
You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
I remember taking my daughter to one and she loved it, my grandaughter goes to one near her and always has a great time
This looks like a lot of fun for kids. I will have to see if we have one of these nearby!
I love taking my kids to places like this! They’re a little older than this, but it’s still so much fun for all of us. I even get out there!
Air Hop is amazing. It really does burn off so much energy and as you rightly say, it is suited to all different ages. I would love to bounce into a foam pit!
It’s heartwarming to read about Robin’s journey at the trampoline park, overcoming past reservations and fully embracing the experience as she’s grown. The attention to detail, like the colorful socks and free-to-use lockers, adds to the overall positive vibe of the outing. It’s lovely to see how small gestures can enhance a day of fun and adventure for the whole family!
Aww looks like you guys had a lot of fun there! Looks like a great past time for the kids.
My daughter loves trampoline parks! I’m sure she’d appreciate a visit to Air Hop! Sounds amazing!!
Looks like a total bouncy good time! This makes me want to hit a trampoline park ASAP!
The kids love the Urban Air place near our home and this location looks awesome too! I love it and would totally go here too if we lived closer 😉
